A comfy and safe place to relax

Pet care experience

A clean, cozy 2 br home with a moderate back yard, including a 6 ft. secure fence in a safe neighborhood. At my house, your dog and I will walk at least once a day, but often more. We will relax together on the couch (if he/she is allowed, of course!) And we will only go in the crate if that's part of your normal home routine. I am an elementary school library teacher, and I would love to care for your family's best friend for a night or a weekend. About this sitter: I have reliable transportation and a regular schedule as a school teacher that allows me to be available every evening after 4:30 p.m. I would be happy to travel to your home and insure that your family friends are comfortable, safe, fed, walked and content. I will spend up to an hour (if you like) providing playtime and attention to your pets in the comfort of their own home during your time away. If you are going out of town, I also offer mail and home-check services at no additional cost! I am an animal lover. I have had dogs and cats for many years. I know exactly how I want my pets to be cared for when I have to be away, and I provide that same level of care for others. My family and friends have often asked me to care for their pets, and I always enjoy it. Why I love dog sitting Dogs have been a part of my family since I was a baby. My first dog, Rosie, was a spaniel mix and my best friend for 12 years. As an adult, I have always had a dog in my home. Meet my pets I have 2 cats, but they are happy to stay in the back part of the house when we have doggy visitors. About my yard I have a medium-sized yard (about 800 sq. ft.) of flat, grassy running space. I have a 6 ft. privacy fence the encloses the entire yard. My experience administering medication If your dog has a history of taking medication, I will be comfortable administering it. But I would prefer not to be the person to give the first dose of any medication.

Melanie was great and we hope she will be available next time we need a sitter. She was very responsive to messages and also sent us plenty of photos. Most importantly our dog looked completely normal when we picked him up as opposed to the depressed disheveled dog we get back when we have kenneled him in the past.

I have no breed preferences. I love all dogs. I get along best with old dogs who like to cuddle, but puppies are always fun too!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I take all visiting dogs for walks in my neighborhood, liberty creek south on the north west side of Indianapolis. It's a clean, safe neighborhood with big sidewalks and lots of visibility. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your dog sleeps in a crate, I ask that you provide the crate. But the sleeping space is in the dining room, which is well-lit and airy, very near the patio doors. If your dog does not sleep in a crate, they will be able to sleep on a dog bed in the sleeping area if they like or even the couch. Time I'll spend with your dog During the weekend, I may be away from home for up to 5 hours for a shift at my part-time job, but all other time will be spent with your dog.
