I am a born animal lover who grew up surrounded by cats, dogs, geese, cockatiels, and even a pot bellied pig! Currently, I am a consultant who works from home and I would love to care for your dog! I am a professional and dedicated caregiver and I make it my priority to send regular updates so that you can relax during your time away from home knowing that your furry family member is receiving the best possible care. I have a BS in Animal Science from Cornell University, have worked with an animal behaviorist, put in many hours as a volunteer at the SPCA, and have been caring for pets professionally for nearly 10 years, including 4 years as a professional dog walker/sitter in NYC. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and look forward to giving yours the same love and care I would give my own!

Melanie was fantastic! Scouser took to her right away and so did we. He also loved her dog, Lolly. We know he had a great time, not only because she sent us photos of when they were out on walks or at the beach, but because he was eating! Scouse usually does not eat or drink much in new situations, especially when we are gone. He must have been very comfortable. We were thrilled to know he was so well taken care of.
Melanie is terrific! We were so worried about leaving our new 4 month old puppy with anyone for a week, but we could tell instantly that Melanie and her home would be perfect. She's kind, and very understanding of puppies. She sent so many beautiful pictures, we felt like he was still so close. We will definitely be contacting her again in the future!!
Melanie took amazing care of my dog. She is so clearly a dog person, took amazing photos and provided regular uodatws. I highlt recommend her for anyone looking for the best care
Melanie is the best!!! when a great dane loves someone, a tell tale sign is that she leans on the person. well, our dane Harper seriously leaned on Melanie within about a minute of meeting her, and her love for Melanie has only deepened over time (this stay was the first time we'd traveled in a while, so Harper hadn't seen Melanie in a couple months... as soon as she got to the house, Harper went totally nuts with joy... major tail wagging, and she got up on her hind legs to give Melanie a big hug hello). we've had Melanie stay with Harper several times now, and she's been awesome every time. she takes great care of Harper, great care of our home, and she sends lots of pictures, which we really appreciate. she's very communicative and incredibly responsible. we absolutely trust her, and she is our go to person for dog sitting. we can't recommend Melanie highly enough... i think Harper actually hopes we go away again soon so Melanie can come back. :)

I take my dog for walks and runs at Little Squalicum Park or to the local parks and trails, such as Padden. On weekends, I go for longer hikes on the many trails available in beautiful Bellingham. I am very active and love having dogs as company for my adventures!
