My name is Melanie and I live in the Martinsburg, WV. I have over 15 years of experience handling and caring for a variety of animals, from ferrets to Mastiffs. I have been employed with the humane society, animal control and have worked in numerous vet offices. If you see that I am already booked for something you can still contact me and I will let you know if I can still assist. Most of the time I can. I am comfortable with large breed dogs, dogs with "quirks" (behavior issues and diverse personality types) as well as cats and small animals including chinchillas and birds. I am comfortable staying in your home if that is preferable; or just stopping by for a walk, medications or feeding and anything on the in between. I have passed an extensive background check by Montgomery County Police, and have no civil or criminal record. am well versed in the care of special needs dogs, and have pet sat for deaf and blind dogs as well as dogs that need medication administered several times a day. My profession assures that I have every resource at hand in case of an emergency situation, as I have great working relationships with most of the area vets, the two emergency 24 hour hospitals and the Animal Services Division of Montgomery County. About this sitter: I do offer in home care which would also include bringing your mail in, watering plants, etc. Any location over 10 miles from my home may have an extra small fee to cover fuel. Please contact me to discuss this. I have been working with animals my entire life and am currently working for Animal Control. Why I love dog sitting I was born to deal with animals. I have always had a sense of calm around them and they seem to understand and enjoy that about me. Meet my pets I currently own 2 dogs. My first dog Ruby is an interesting unknown 30lbs mix that loves everyone and every dog. My second is a white Merle Chihuahua named sky. They both are fun and are all up to date on shots. About my yard I do have a large backyard but it is not completely fenced in yet. All dogs go with me on leash and are never left unattended. I do work full time 10 hrs a day. Those hours may vary depending on the day. I am a first responder for Berkeley County but I am on top of taking care of any animals I am sitting for.
