Pet care experience
I have recently lost my beloved Australian Shepard, Taz .He was spoilt with 3 one hour walks a day, almost never alone ( due to my flexible schedule) and lots of attention. I think that is why he lived to be 15 years old. Even the day before he had his stroke, he had an hour long walk to Fred Gingel park and was able to sniff and explore and be happy. I am finding that I miss caring for an animal but my heart is not ready to replace Taz . I think that by trying out Rover .Com, I might be able to heal from this loss and at the same time help out fellow dog lovers. Taz was a huge part of the family and I am super active and know I still have a lot to offer the dog community.

Mel has been a dog walker for us many times over the years. She is responsible, considerate and most of all she LOVES dogs and they LOVE her! Anyone who is fortunate enough to have Mel care for their dog will not be disappointed.
I have known Melanie for over 25 years. Melanie is an empathetic, responsible, and calm individual. I have had numerous dogs through the years and all of the dogs run to Mel when she visits. The dogs love Mel which is evident with their desire to be alongside her and their incessant tail wagging! Mel is my one friend who I trust to care for my dog. I do not worry because I know my dog will be well cared for. I worry that my dog will not want to come home because they enjoy Mel's company more!

I would like to know if the dog has any fears or concerns. I want the dog to be comfortable and not stressed. I have no breed preference but prefer bigger dogs that like to be outside with me on walks.
A typical day
I would take the dog wherever they were comfortable. I live in Upper tsawwassen and could take the dog down to the beach, the dyke, Pebble Hill park ( off leash if they are good with off leash) or just through the neighbourhood if that's what they prefer.
