Pet care experience
Hey there, I’m Mel (she/her). I’m 27, UCSC alumna, nature and beach lover. If there's something to know about me, it is the exponential love and passion I have for animals. Dogs, cats, birds, my love for any kind of fur friend doesn’t judge:) I've taken care of our family dog, Teddie (named after Teddy in Little Women) since he was a little guy and now he's 16🥲. Since graduating and now living in Aptos/Rio Del Mar, I have my own pet, Miss Tea, who I fostered as a quarantine companion then adopted. Not only do I have experience fostering cats, I've also pet sit on numerous occasions, taking care of dogs, bunnies, fish, and cats. I also used to walk my neighbor’s dog because I wanted to help and he was a little chonk who needed some exercise. I hope to meet your fur friend(s) soon, rest assured they’ll be in my care and will be showered with love and treats because they (obviously) deserve it. I also live right next to the beach so if your pup has lots of energy I can channel that with beach runs or walks with me:) So, I have a 9-5 full time WFH job but I am available before or after then and also during my lunch break at 12! If i’m in a clients home I am of course respectable and considerate of their space and clean up any mess (if made). I totally understand it’s weird letting a stranger (me) into your home but please trust that I’m of good character and am only there to give your fur friend the love/attention/treats they need.

Melaina is one of the most caring, dependable Rover sitters I have ever used! She is so sweet to our dogs and treats them as if they were her own! She spends extra time with them, playing fetch and beach runs. I couldn’t imagine a better sitter for my furbabies while I’m away at work. I know they are in great hands.
Melaina is great with our two dogs and one cat. She was housesitting for us while we were on vacation. My pets absolutely love her. She sent us updates and pictures and bonded with them immediately. She took care of our home and made sure that the packages and mail were picked up. I would highly recommend her.
Mel was great! She kept us updated and we came home to a very happy pup.
