DOG LOVER WITH BIG YARD & HOME 24/7

Pet care experience

I can't remember a time that I wasn't obsessed with dogs. I begged my mom for one until she relented, and have had one since I was 10 years old, and have been volunteering at rescues and shelters since I was a young child. I have experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I am currently in the process of studying to become a force-free dog trainer, and love the opportunity to get experience working with all of the dogs that come through my doors. I purchased my home with my dogs in mind as I've got a fenced yard and I wanted to make sure that they had plenty of room to run around. Your dog will be treated like family while they're staying with me. I have three dogs of my own that range in age from 2 to 12, so no matter what speed your dog likes to go we've got something for them. For anyone little who needs it I've got stairs to get up on furniture. My pup, Alaska, LOVES to play and will welcome any playmates with open paws. We've got tons of toys and chews around the house and lots of beds and couches to lounge on if that's what they're into. I provide plenty of updates with pictures and videos on how your pup is doing so you don’t have to worry about how your baby is without you. Being home full time and having lots of other playmates, your pup won’t have a lot of opportunities to get bored…in fact I have many owners texting me after telling me how tired their dog was after staying here! I try to let the dogs be outside and play to their heart’s content (weather permitting, of course). I started Rover as something to do on the side to spend time with dogs, and it has grown to be a full time gig for me and I couldn’t be happier. Being around dogs is truly what brings me joy--it would be my pleasure to take care of your pup while you're away. COVID-19 Note: I am fully vaccinated and am happy to wear a mask at meet & greets, pickups, and drop offs if you would prefer! WHAT KIND OF DOGS DO BEST HERE? My goal is to let the dogs interact and play as much as possible, so well socialized dogs do best at my house. If your dog prefers to be alone or has aggressive/anxiety-based behaviors, then I may not be the sitter for you. Please keep this in mind as you consider me as a potential dog sitter. I am not for every dog and we want to ensure your dog is comfortable in its environment. I am ALWAYS happy to do a meet and greet and give my opinion on whether or not a dog would thrive here!

Meghana is our go-to whenever we need to leave our two dogs with someone. Both dogs love Meghana and come home tired from all the playing! We highly recommend Meghana!

Safety, trust & environment

The safety and well-being of the dogs in my care is always my #1 concern. My house is set up “for the dogs,” meaning that I have baby gates where needed to be able to create zones to allow dogs a chill space to decompress or to separate dogs if need be. My yard is large and fully fenced, and I do not allow guest dogs to be outside unsupervised. I am always watching them to ensure their safety. I do separate dogs from separate households if I have to leave the house, and feed dogs separately. The rest of the day they’re allowed to mingle as long as everyone gets along, but those are the times I take extra caution to ensure everyone is safe and happy. I carry private insurance as well—this is a full time business for me, not just a hobby.

Information Meghana P. would like to know about your pet

Anything specific about your dog! If they have any likes/dislikes, allergies, any health issues/medication, favorite kinds of toys, are they a little nervous when meeting new people, etc? It will help me make them more comfortable in a new environment more quickly! Before a stay, I will also require proof of vaccinations. If there are any training words or techniques you routinely use with your dog, let me know in detail. (Examples: "Go Potty" or "Sit" at intersections and doorways) I want to help you keep up consistency in training so your pooch will behave as best he/she can with us both. I have a questionnaire that I will ask you to complete before your stay that will give me all of the info I need on your dog!

A typical day

I try to let the dogs be outside and play as much as they want to and weather permits. I will sometimes take older or less playful dogs out for walks, but for the most part the dogs are more interested in staying in the yard and having playtime together. We usually do breakfast around 8:30 and dinner around 5, but my dogs are flexible and can adapt to our guest dogs’ schedules. For sleeping, dogs are allowed on my bed and furniture, and I do have crates as well if you crate your dog at home for sleeping. I do not crate dogs that are not used to being crated, but have them here for those who would like me to continue their routine at home.
