Hi! My name is Megan and I am a pre-vet student at Virginia Tech. I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences with an emphasis in companion animals and equine science. In addition to my major, I am minoring in Communications with a focus in Public Relations. I have interned with two veterinary hospitals as well as becoming a veterinarian assistant two years ago working in a small animal hospital. I have assisted with everything in the veterinary practices and can offer quality care. I currently own one dog, a 5 year old german shepherd. I also had a husky until she was almost 14 years old. Owning an older dog as well as working in with vets has made me extremely comfortable with medications and other situations with older dogs. My shepherd is a rescue and have had her for almost a year. I am completely comfortable dealing with more reserved pets after working with her. I would love to make everyone's pets' lives a little better by giving quality care to each of them as if they were my own pets. Daily walks, staying with them while you're gone, medication, what ever it may be I make it a point to take as much time as they need to be happy pets. Depending on your location, I could take your pet for walks, go to a local dog park, trails, or even take my very friendly pup over for a play date!! My car is large enough to fit up to 80-90lb dogs so transportation to explore fun places is a strong possibility (: The reason I became a pre-vet student at Virginia Tech was to make a difference in pets' lives.
