Be kind to ALL animals!

Pet care experience

I am twenty-seven and physically fit. I have a 75 pound lab\poodle, Paddy. He really seems to enjoy having me just as much as I LOVE having him. We have more than enough space including spare bedrooms, a basement, a fenced in back yard, a nature park just outside our front door and a very well-maintained fenced in dog park roughly 3 or 4 blocks down the road. I am a vegetarian and love to hang around plants and animals. I feel confident reading dogs behavior. Through observation and by using my own intuition, I can meet their needs while keeping them safe, feeling loved, and cared for. I spend a lot of time with my dog and feel obligated to make him happy during his short life on earth.

Information Megan W. would like to know about your pet

The breed makes not a bit of difference to me. I believe all dogs have the capability of becoming aggressive based on their environment, treatment, and other complex factors. I would need to know about any incidences and any amount of aggression that the dogs have experienced with either other dogs or humans. Has the dog ever been attacked, bit, or in any violent situation at all? Does the dog come when its name is called? Does the dog have any behavioral tendencies such as bolting out the door or jumping up on people? Does the dog have fleas? Does the dog have his\her shots?

A typical day

The location of my home is actually ideal for dog walking\sitting. Although its considered in the city, my neighborhood is quiet with a large grass area just across the street. There is a nature trail toward the north of our neighborhood and a few blocks south a river runs through, which makes for a beautiful walk in any season. I have a fenced in back yard, an extremely friendly dog of my own, and our home sits about 3 or 4 blocks down the road from a very well-maintained dog park. The dog park is a doggy heaven with balls, toys, and two large fenced in areas one for small and one for large dogs. Sometimes I will drive to Notre Dame Campus (about a 1mile drive) and walk them in a figure 8 around the two lakes.
