Pet care experience

Your pets will receive love and care as if they were my pets. I've been taking care of animals of all kinds since I was a kid. I work for a non-profit rescue fostering Australian Shepherds and other herding breeds. I love all animals (especially dogs) and live a high energy lifestyle full of exercise and affection. My dogs are trained in all of the basic commands and some intermediate to advanced level commands. I have also worked with them on herding, retrieving, and walking well on a leash. I have dabbled in behavior modification for undesirable behaviors. Also, I am a profesionally licensed special education teacher (11 years), a mother of two, and a military wife. I look forward to working with you and your furry loved ones. At this time, we only have two dogs, and two baby turtles. I know my profile says we have 4, but we recently lost our older female, Catie, and our aussie, Eli, crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We do have room for your pet!

Megan was great with my Zeus who really enjoyed his stay with her and her dogs . Zeus likes to play with other dogs and it was a wonderful experience for him as well while we were gone for our vacation. It’s really important for all of us to leave our dog/pets with a trustworthy dog sitter while we are out of town as it significantly reduces the stress of separation and let’s us enjoy our vacation and not worry about our pet anymore. We put our trust in Megan with Zeus as she was the right person whom we could comfortably leave Zeus with !! Thank u Megan for taking care of Zeus while we were gone .....

Information Megan S. would like to know about your pet

Is he/she crate trained? What commands do they know? Describe their temperament around you, other guests, small kids, other animals (leash aggression, nervousness, excessive barking, etcetera). I am willing to work through most issues as long as I am aware they are concerns of yours. Do they have any separation anxiety? Do you leave them crated or out in the house/yard when you have to leave?

A typical day

We love to walk around our neighborhood as well as local parks and beaches. My dogs enjoy walks almost every day (even the rainy ones)! We love playing ball and frisbee as well as tug of war. Basic training is part of our every day routine as well as belly rubs and ear scratches (and for my aussies- butt scratches).

We currently have a lot going on with my family. My mother has cancer, and we lost my father last may. I am only taking dogs that are calm and low maintenance like my own.
