Vet tech offering professional care
Pet care experience
I'm new to Rover, but I have worked with animals professionally for over 10 years and as a veterinary technician for almost 8. I focus on providing exceptional care to all pets and accommodating those with special needs. Typical areas of concern include diabetics, daily medications, subcutaneous fluids, limited mobility, geriatric, difficult to handle, shy, fearful or other behavior quirks. Because most of my clients are more worried than usual about leaving their pets at home, I give regular updates and am readily available by phone or text.
Reviews
Megan was wonderful. She is super responsive, very knowledgeable about dogs, and I had no worries about my dog while I was away. He had a great time - I could tell from all the picture updates and how calm and happy he was when I got home. I would highly recommend her.
I was a little hesitant to hire someone I didn't know to dog/house sit for me, especially with 3 dogs. I'm usually not one to leave reviews, but for Megan, I have to. She completely put our minds at ease from the moment we met her. From her history as a vet tech with that medical knowledge, to the way she handled our dogs (which can be a handful) I knew she was the one I could trust. She took the time to send us pictures of the dogs playing and snuggling, and everyone looked so happy. She gave us daily updates and even picked up the "landmines" our dogs left in the yard (even ones from before her stay!). When we came home, our house was neat and in order, and the dogs looked perfectly happy. I can't say enough about Megan. If you're looking for someone you can trust, who has the expertise, and is kind and courteous, choose her. We are going to use her for everything. I am so glad we found her. Thank you, Megan!! You made our vacation even better knowing the pups were in your hands!
Megan gave my family all the piece of mind that we were seeking and more. We started out as a two dog family, with one dog with special needs. Between the time Megan and I met and our trip, we became a family with two dogs with special needs, due to temporary injury. Megan adapted to the change in care requirements enthusiastically and professionally. Both my dogs' physiological, medical and psychological needs were met to a T.

Information Megan P. would like to know about your pet
My clients' pets have usually never had a pet sitter before. For various reasons, my clients haven't felt comfortable leaving their furry companions home or felt guilty about traveling knowing their pet needed specialized care. Many clients have been referred to me from their own vets when an unexpected situation came up. They had to travel, often on short notice, but didn't want to board or hospitalize in their absence. I also love working with clients who simply want the best care while they're away, and trust I can handle any situation your pet dishes out.
A typical day
I typically host dogs in their own homes and most often spend the night with them as well. I do everything in my power to help your pets thrive while you're away. That can mean long walks, focused training sessions, intense cuddling, or just hanging out during a nap. Each critter is different and I adapt my approach accordingly. Because it takes time for this type of care, I'm careful about over-booking and I will discuss other commitments in advance. Medical concerns are my utmost priority so I will not compromise care to book more clients than I can accommodate.
