Hi there!!! My name is Megan. Ive loved and worked with animals all my life. I started pet sitting neighbors cats as a child and by the time I turned 16, I went to work at a boarding kennel. Within a couple of years, I became the supervisor and lived above the kennel. At night I became solely responsible for the care of many dogs and cats. From there, I moved to Chicago and went to work as an assistant to a groomer and as an assistant/kennel attendant at a vet hospital. While working, I attended a private grooming school in 2005. Once I graduated, I began my grooming career at Petsmart. I was with the company for 7 years at which time I became the salon manager. After I left Petsmart, I worked as a receptionist at a busy Lincoln Park animal hospital. but I still groomed at home. I currently groom at a shop in Portage Park and I dog walk. I have an extensive knowledge when it comes to dogs. I still continue to pet sit in my home as well as my clients home. I promise to spoil, pamper, pet, walk, groom (if need be) and love your furry family members as if they were my own! Why I love dog sitting: In addition to my work history I've been around pets from the time I was born. I grew up in central Illinois and we had a lot of room to have many dogs and cats over the years. Most of our pets were from the shelter or stray animals that I would rescue along my way. When I was 10, I was the one who took our dog through obedience courses, which was a tradition I carried out with every dog my family and myself have owned. I've also done volunteer work at animal shelters and events to raise money for homeless pets. Currently I reside at home with my partner, our dog Rue who I adopted in 2020, our cat Raj who my partner adopted when he was a kitten, and our cat Creamsicle who literally followed me home one day:)
