Pet care experience
Hey there my names Megan I’m a college student, I have classes Monday-Friday 12-5pm but outside of that I am always available. I have had dogs/cats since I was 5 years old and I also know how to perform CPR on dogs. I have been volunteering at animal shelters since my freshman year of high school and I also work with local rescue centers to help dogs and cats find treatment and forever homes! I had a husky who required grooming everyday so i will be more than happy to groom your pet. I have trained 5-6 dogs in the last 2 years and I also provide senior and puppy care for dogs who are older or puppies who are smaller in size I work from home and I am available 7 days of the week. Please don’t hesitate to call/text me, I can work with YOUR schedule:) I live in a townhouse and have recently rescued a BlueTick CoonHound and am currently working on training and socializing him so I can currently not taking any boarding requests.
Reviews
Megan seems like a nice person but I unfortunately can not recommend her for extended house sitting. We were gone for 5 nights and the first day went perfectly, but after that things deteriorated pretty quickly. Our dog was left for 11 hours without explanation and she only came after I texted her twice inquiring if things were ok. Once he was let out at 2am even after I expressed it was important to keep him as close to his schedule as possible (we usually let him out at 10:30pm for bed not ever in the middle of the night like that). The first couple days we got pictures but then rarely after that and none for the last two days. I didn’t see him get any walks on the ring camera though I don’t have proof either way. What was really bothersome was coming home and finding 7-8 of his inside toys outside in the rain all over the yard- which tells me she either did not go in the backyard with him (we requested he get playtime if not walks) or she saw the many stuffed toys and bully sticks and balls in the yard and didn’t care. There were also muddy marks all over our beige chair (that were not there when we left) though there were pet wipes next to the door and plenty of paper towels, and I had let her know cleaning supplies were under the sink. During the meet and greet Megan said all the right things and asked all the right questions about routines and toys and shared how she could take him to the dog park- I felt so confident leaving my dog and cat with her, but unfortunately I don’t think they received high quality care. It could have been worse and she could have just not showed up at all or been mean to them, and the pets seem ok, but I was so worried my whole trip- it really ruined my enjoyment and more importantly I feel the animals got stuck with inconsistent treatment they didn’t deserve. What was our fault was forgetting to leave out the litter genie for the cat box, but I left detailed written instructions and included in there to scoop the litter box (which she said she didn’t mind doing and was also being paid for) and she never communicated to ask where it would be if it wasn’t out… and we were gone 6 days total. Overall it was just a poor experience. I will say she did notice a small hole the possums dug under the fence and filled it in which we did appreciate and she brought in a small box that was delivered on the porch. She genuinely seems like a nice person, I just don’t think this is maybe her forte.
I’m thankful that Megan was sweet and patient with my doggies! Although I booked her last minute she was very attentive and caring!
I had megan watch my 5 month old pit bull puppy and she did an excellent job! Max would come home happy and all tired out from the dog park
