Home is where the pup is :)

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Megan. I grew up in a household full of dogs and cats and have been caring for animals since I was five years old. I've had small dogs, big dogs, silly dogs, goofy dogs, shy dogs, and more. When I moved away for college, I had very little contact with animals, and I missed it so much! Not long after I graduated, I began to walk and sit for various companies and developed a love for professional pet care. I love catering to my four-legged friends, and I've met the most wonderful owners since starting this journey in 2016. In January 2018, we adopted my little Nutmeg, who is a Shepherd-Terrier mix and the love of my life. Now, I pet sit and offer walking services to give back some of the love pups have given me over the years. My home is incredibly dog-friendly. We have treats, toys, and lots of space to run around safely inside. We also have an escape-proof patio for outdoor relaxation, a park right down the street, and lots of grass throughout the neighborhood, which makes it perfect for walks. I make peanut butter dog biscuits for Nutmeg that I'd be happy to make for any pooch. I’m home most of the day, so when owners book with me, their fur babies will get undivided attention. I have experience with all the basic commands, recall leash training, loose-leash walking, impulse control, and more. I can also help administer pills to your pet if they are on medication. I work as an actor, so my schedule varies. When I book a client, it will be on a day that I’m not shooting or rehearsing. I may have to step out for an audition, but that never takes too long, so your pet will have someone home with them for the majority of their stay.

Megan and I own a sweet pup together named Nutmeg. Megan has been an incredible advocate for Nutmeg's health and is always on top of our responsibilities as puppy parents. She show endless amounts of love to our little girl and also is never hesitant when it comes to proper, positive, conditioning and training. She's been an invaluable partner not only in our lives, but in Nutmeg's as well.

Megan is absolutely phenomenal. Her positive attitude is infectious and I just love upbeat approach to everything. Definitely hire as your dog caregiver! She’s so great with them and it’s obvious they love her. Dogs instinctively gravitate towards her and you can tell she truly enjoys what she does.

Megan is one of the most responsible, caring, and efficient people that I have ever known. No matter what job she has, she will always make sure that it gets done in the upmost efficient way. She is nothing less than a gift.

Information Megan & Penn G. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have any special needs? Are they timid, excitable, or laid back? Is there any training you’re currently working with them on that you'd like me to continue? What is their feeding schedule? I don’t have any breed preferences for walks, but I prefer to walk canines under 120 pounds. For overnight stays and daycare, I can’t take dogs over 40 pounds because my pup is shy around larger breeds.

A typical day

I always start by getting down to the dog’s level and letting them come to me first. If they’re shy, I don’t want to startle them by trying to pet them right away. From there, I’ll just pet and soothe your pooch until they are comfortable. If the dog is happy to see me when we meet, we can start playing right away! The Balboa/Sepulveda basin dog park is just an eight-minute drive from my home, so we can go there for some off-leash play if you allow it. The park near my apartment is quiet and large, so we can definitely find space to walk and relax together. My apartment community is very pet-friendly with water stations and pet waste dispensers. I’ll send you videos and pictures throughout the day so that you know your furry loved one is having fun and well taken care of. I’m available via text or phone, so feel free to reach out at any time with additional questions or instructions.
