Quality dog care in your home
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Megan and I have always loved dogs. I grew up in SW Portland with various labs and golden retrievers. I used to feed the neighbor's Lassie dog and the other neighbor's pug when they were out of town. Until recent years I had two dogs out in Eastern Washington with my ex-husband. They were Fergie, a Welsh corgi, and Roscoe, a German shepherd. They were definitely like my kids before I had a human child of my own. I even used to dress them up in Halloween costumes every year. Does that seem too weird? My point is that I can be trusted to look after your furry friend and your house while you are out of town for that special weekend at the coast or when you are flying out to go see relatives out of state.
Reviews
Megan loves and has had dogs in her life since we met years ago. She is a person who spends a lot of time walking and playing with her dogs. She taught me how to use a "chuck it" with my own dog. ? As someone who uses Rover.com, I think Megan would fit into this group of dog sitters who treat our dogs as their own.
Megan has been a dog owner and lover for many years. She is a dedicated and hard worker who is possesses the desire to do a good job. I have three dogs that are energetic and even a little needy. I trust Megan with all three of my pups!
I highly recommend Megan as a dog sitter. She truly is a dog person and treats them like family. Megan has been amazing to my English Bulldogs, Zoey and Quincy!

I don't currently offer pet care in my home due to living in an apartment complex which has no fenced yard. I am mainly interested in doing check ins and occasional house/pet sitting due some current medical issues where I can still go on walks, but do walk with a cane and have some balance issues and an ankle injury.
Information Megan C. would like to know about your pet
I have more experience with mid sized to large breed dogs. But due to some current medical issues can't walk high energy dogs that are too anxious on lead for long walks as I will most certainly lose my balance and fall as I walk with a cane and doing physical therapy for balance issues and an ankle injury. But I can certainly play with your dog in your back yard and take them for walks if they are good on lead. I don't currently have a car available to take them to dog park. But can walk them to a nearby park from your home. As long as they get on well with other dogs. If not then I prefer just to stick with short walks near your home or playing with them in your yard.
A typical day
I like to come by to meet you and your dog if you live nearby generally before I come over for the gig. If this is not possible then I like to show up a good half hour prior to you leaving on your trip. If you have a yard I like to go back there and bond with your dog. Play with a chuck it or whatever his/her favorite dog toy to play with happens to be this week. Give them a couple treats if that is okay with you. If the dog is on meds, I prefer you leave instructions for how often, etc. Special diets or instructions.

Availability
I have somewhat flexible schedule right now as I am looking for PT office job. Available most weekends, even holiday weekends. I can do check ins during the week too if you are on or within a few blocks of a bus route. I am also a traveling pet sitter and do gigs in Oregon for friends and family. I take the Amtrak and would love to pet sit on the Oregon Coast sometime. Refer me to anyone you know in need of a pet sitter in Astoria down to Florence. If I can get there by train or bus then they can book my services and I will make it a work vacation.
