Pet care experience
I grew up in a home with cats and dogs and cared for neighbors' and friends' pets from a very young age. Now I'm mom to two senior kitties, Penny and Eliza, and a rescued collie, Gertie. Between my own pets and family member's, I have many varied experiences including: nursing kittens, caring for pets after surgery, administering medication, anxiety training and building trust, grooming and of course, playtime! I even have some experience caring for horses, sheep and chickens and I'm always willing to learn how to best care for whatever animal is dear to your heart.
Reviews
Meg is always a pleasure to work with and takes such great care of our pets, including the chickens :)
Meg is fabulous! She is professional, has excellent communication, and takes such great care of our pets and house. We have booked her on several occasions and will absolutely book her again!
Meg is amazing and we are 100% happy with her services! She house sat for our dog, cats, chickens and fish while we were away for a week. She did an amazing job. The pets were so happy and calm when we returned. She has excellent communication and great attention to detail. We will hope to book her services again!
Could not have asked for better care for Felicia & Porges. Meg was stellar from the meet and greet session and with her reliable and kind care of the Ladies. She asked very detailed questions about the care of the Girls and house in general. Everything went like clockwork! Her kindness and soft approach really paid off as the kitties are very shy but made surprise appearances for photos! Meg sent helpful and reassuring updates of her visits. She also left everything extra tidy and I think neater than when I left for 10 days. Even brought the mail in which was so appreciated. I recommend Meg with a five star rating. Very professional indeed. Thank you Meg.

At your home, I will follow all rules for playing, correcting and caring for your pet just as you would. At my home, I have a large yard bordered by woods but no fence and I am close to a major road. I never let my dog out unattended but she does fine with me off-leash. However, I would always leash your dog no matter what when we go out for bathroom breaks. Their trust is established with you as owner and I would never take any unnecessary risks. I do have a run if they were comfortable trying that so we could have some outside play time. My cats both stay indoors and one is limited to first floor only, so we do have several gates installed in case any rooms need to be closed off or pets need to stay in one location.
Information Meg S. would like to know about your pet
Please share if your pet has any special needs or unique behaviors. I try to learn the underlying reasons (e.g. fear, anxiety, protective, bored) for certain behavior and adjust my responses accordingly. Please also share any allergies, regular medications or supplements and bathroom and sleep routines.
A typical day
Depending on the level of activity your pet prefers, I'm open to everything from snuggling on the couch to playing with puzzle toys to taking a hike in the woods.

Right now, my schedule is open except for dates I have blocked out on my calendar. I'd love pet-care to become a full-time job for me, so I may be open to more permanent and regular daily care needs starting in mid-July.
