Meg stopped in daily to watch our cat while we were out on vacation for a week. You can tell she takes her pet sitting duties very seriously

I have never met someone so committed to getting to know a dog as Meg is. My pup is a rescue and has had a hard life so meeting her and working with her can be a challenge but Meg has put in so much work in our first week alone. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Loving all pets, rescue or pedigree

Dogs have been part of my life since I was four years old, and as I grew up the presence of pets only became more important. I've been a shelter and rescue volunteer, gotten certified in pet first aid and CPR, and cared for my pets in sickness and in health. I'm responsible, patient, and experienced as well as genuinely enthusiastic about this chance to work with your pets!

A bit about me: I live ...

-Behavioral concerns or cautions, and any triggers
-Your usual routine and what your dog is used to, and any major likes or dislikes
-Any training routines you'd like continued during my visit
-Anything else you want me to know!

When Meg watches your pet

What we do depends on the dog! I like to speak with the owners and make sure I know what's best for each individual pet, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. For younger dogs full of energy and still working on training, we might have an energetic walk working on fun, exercise, and walking on a leash nicely--maybe a few times and do basic commands like "sit" or "down" to work on generalizing them outside of the usual environment and also work on listening in distracting environments. With a senior dog dog, we'd probably take a gentle walk and keep to easy footing, try not to go up and down too many hills, and see how they hold up. For a delicate small dog on a dangerously cold sort of freezing day, activities might be a short walk outside as a potty break and then playing with toys together inside to work off the energy without worrying about extreme temperature. Basically, each client is different and we'll have a conversation before I care for your pet to go over your rules and preferences and see what I can do to help out and fit into the routine where you need me.

Note for overnights with me staying at your home: I will often request to bring my own dog, Stormlight, on overnights. She loves cats, is great with dogs of all sizes, and isn't a barker. I will bring a crate and never allow her to interact with your animals unsupervised--or, if you prefer, at all. I'll also bring her to meet you at our meet and greet if you'd like to. She would be in my apartment during the day when not with me and when I'm in for the night would return with me. We can discuss this depending on location.
