Stay-at-home Mom & Pet-Loving Kids

Pet care experience

I am a stay-at-home mom with three children. I do some light work from home, but am home several hours a day. I am almost always gone for 2-3 hours each day. I wake up around 6am each day and usually take out and feed any dogs I'm caring for. If your dog walks easily on a leash, he or she can accompany me and my children on my daily school walks with the children. I do that 2x a day. It's about a 25 minute walk round trip. Otherwise, I can do shorter walks between 9-11 or after 3pm. I prefer text messaging as my main form of communication, strictly because of practicality. I don't mind phone calls: but it is difficult to have conversations at length with 3 children around. I don't mind emails either; I just check those less than my texts. We have a large front yard, but our backyard is mostly pool. If your dog is nervous around pools then this is not the house for them. We use it a lot. There is just enough grass for one or two dogs to do their business. I also have experience with pad-trained dogs. I always had dogs growing up: from scotties to Rottweilers, there was always a dog in my home. The moment I began living on my own, I got a dog. I even "rescued" a dog from my in-laws who was living outside in the Texas heat, and never brought inside. He came to live in the a/c in my home instead. When my family re-located to London six years ago, very sadly I had to give up both of my pets. I joined a service in the UK similar to Rover, and looked after others' dogs. Now we are back in the US and while not ready for pets of our own, we are ready to look after others. I dog-sit for my family's pets often, and not only do I love it, but my kids do too. It is a great tool to teach them about responsibility and caring for other living beings.

Oscar loved his stay with Medea. She provides a wonderful environment and is a true pet lover. When Oscar is with Medea, I have no worries at all about how he is doing.

Our 10 month puppy loves people, hates kennels so this was our first time using Rover. It was a bleessing to have this app and found the perfect puppy sitter. Our puppy felt right at home and played with her kids.

Medea and her family took care of our Senior almost blind Beagle and we could not be more happy!!! ... She took care of him like nobody else!... She is creative and has a lot of experience with dogs; we thought our dog was going to be a lot of work and she was able to manage it in a really kind way. She kept us posted with pictures and messages and we really notice how happy he was. I definitely recommend her, and would like to get her help again.

1st time using Rover and Medea. Couldn't be happier. Medea and her family treated my dog as their own. Medea sent lots of updates and pics. She also seemed to really understand dogs and read their needs. For example, I forgot to tell her my dog likes her kennel in bedroom with you or she will whine. Medea quickly figured that out on her own. Will definitely use her again.

Information Medea P. would like to know about your pet

I have experience caring for all sizes and breeds of dogs. We are excited to care for your pet! And I know how valuable they are to your family. But in the safety and interest of your dog and my children, we would only like dogs that you KNOW are good with children. We have one toddler in the house that listens well, but she is still a toddler. My kids love to play and interact with other dogs. My children do not hit or kick animals and are not rough-natured children, but do love a good cuddle and play session. We would prefer older breeds (not puppies) that do not do excessive jumping since there are some little people in the house... (bearing in mind we understand that some dogs get excited upon initial arrival of their masters :) Also, it's important that your dog is able to NOT sleep in the bed with me; but preferably in a crate, on the floor, on a dog bed anywhere in the house, or in a closed off room. This will help keep the peace with the man of the house ? Can't wait to meet your pups!!

A typical day

We have a lovely, quiet neighborhood and a pool. If your dog doesn’t swim well or doesn’t avoid water when he should, then this may not be the house for your dog. There is not much grass, but there is enough! Happy to take daily walks with the dog but I am not always available to do trips to the park for high-energy dogs.
