I work 50-75% remotely from home as an independent contractor, which means your pet will receive plenty of direct attention and supervision throughout their stay. They’ll rarely be left alone, and will enjoy a safe, calm, and caring environment with someone nearby almost all the time.

Your pet will stay comfortably indoors in our climate-controlled home, where they’ll have free run of the space throughout their visit. For quiet time or naps, I’ve set up a private suite with a clean, sanitized kennel available whenever they need a little alone time. Meal, food, and treat times are always handled separately to keep things calm and fair for everyone. It’s all part of creating a safe, respectful environment where every pet feels at ease.

Information Mechelle W. would like to know about your pet
We absolutely adore brachycephalic breeds—French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, Bostons, and Boxers are some of our favorites! These lovable pups are where our practical experience truly shines. That said, we’re an equal-opportunity dog-loving family and welcome all breeds with open arms. Before welcoming your pet into our home, we like to get a feel for their temperament. Understanding their personality helps us create a safe, happy, and harmonious environment tailored to their needs. Socialized and well-mannered pets are always welcome to roam freely in our home. We also appreciate knowing about any special dietary or medical needs, unique quirks, or specific requests—every detail helps us provide the best possible care for your furry family member.
A typical day
Early morning walks through local trails and parks are a delightful adventure your pet can look forward to! These outings help prevent boredom, release pent-up energy, and set a positive tone for the day. In addition to our morning strolls, we regularly visit enclosed dog parks two to four times a week, offering plenty of opportunities for safe play, socialization, and exercise with your permission, of course!

Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m a trained Veterinary Technician with over 25 years of experience caring for pets, with most of my career spent in the animal welfare world. These days, I’m semi-retired and work 50-75% remotely from home as an independent contractor —but I still love volunteering with rescue groups and animal non-profits whenever I can. It’s a wonderful way to stay connected to my passion and keep my veterinary skills fresh. I have access to emergency veterinary care (at your expense if needed), and I’m trained to administer medications with different routes of administration. My years of experience mean I can spot subtle changes in your pet’s behavior or health—things that might go unnoticed by others. That kind of trained eye can offer real peace of mind when you’re away. It’s exactly what I’d want for my own furkids! Speaking of furkids, my family and I will welcome yours into our home and treat them just like one of our own. My children have grown up surrounded by animals and are incredibly kind, respectful, and loving. We adopted a sweet English Bulldog from a shelter a few years ago, and we’re big believers in pet adoption and the importance of spay/neuter. Of course, we respect all pet parents choices and are always happy to share what we’ve learned if you're curious! Our pets—Buttercup (Butters), French Toast (Toast), —are friendly with nearly all furry friends. They’re spoiled beyond belief, and your pet will be no exception! We specialize in brachycephalic breeds like English Bulldogs, Frenchies, Pugs, Bostons, and Boxers, but we welcome all well-behaved dogs. While we don’t have a fenced yard, our pets (and yours) are strictly indoor companions and always under direct supervision. They enjoy daily leash walks and visits to enclosed dog parks, depending on their needs. Because Utah’s weather can be extreme, our home is kept comfortably climate-controlled year-round. When we’re home, healthy and house-trained pets are allowed to roam freely. If we need to step out briefly (never more than 1–2 hours), your pet will be safely crated or kenneled in a clean, cozy space. This is just for their safety. If that setup doesn’t work for your pet, we might not be the best fit—but I’m always open to chatting about special accommodations! A few important notes: • All pets must be current on vaccinations and licensed in your city or county. Proof is required—thank you for understanding! • “DogUber” pick-up and drop-off services for boarding, grooming, or vet visits may be available for an additional fee (limited service area). • We also offer small dog (15–20 lbs or under) airline nanny services within the U.S. If you’re interested, just ask! And one more thing! I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built with pet families over the years. If you’d like to hear from others who’ve trusted me with their beloved pets, I’m happy to provide references or you can read them here on Rover. It’s always nice to hear from fellow pet parents about their experiences with my care.
Reviews

Michelle was very helpful when she came and petsit my dogs. My friend found the one of the dogs turned the gas stove on and the whole house smelled like gas. She called the gas technician and made sure that there was no leak. Thank you, Michelle, for all your help when I couldn’t be there.

Mechelle is wonderful! So communicative and kind. We’ll definitely rebook with her!

Michelle was amazing! Don’t hesitate to book her services. She went above and beyond for my two giant dogs. One of my dogs was sick when she watched them. She picked up medication and supplements and even got baby food to help encourage him to eat. She paid attention to details and had so much insights as she was tending to him. I am grateful that she accepted my last minute booking which prevented from having to cancel my trip.

Ramen is a regular at Mechelle’s now. Everyone loved him like their own. I feel so fortunate that our timing has been working out so far.
