Vet Tech and VERY flexible schedule

Pet care experience

Hi there, my name is Meagan. I have no other commitments other than your precious animals and my part time job for a school district. I go to and from work 2 times a day. Each time I leave work, I don’t return (don’t have to) for 1-3 hours at a time. On that same note, I am never stuck at work for more than 2 and half to 3 hours at the very most at one time period. VERY FLEXIBLE!! With that being said, I have more than enough time to come watch/take care of your precious important animals. I would love to be the one to come take care of ALL of your animals needs. I can give walks, brush your dog or cat, wash and fill food/water bowls. I can Trim nails, clip/trim hair (for example: around the eyes when there’s stains from having them water a lot and the bottom area for hygiene). I can bathe with medicated soothing shampoo, wash faces with medicated wipes/cleaner for those sensitive babies with the face folds and watery eyes that makes the area appear “dirty”. I have my own, high end, always sharp (never dull because dull can cause pinching sensation when trying to trim the nails) nail trimmers in 3 different sizes. (Small/medium/large). I also have my own soft brush for getting that hair untangled and silky smooth again. Ear cleaner, medicated soothing shampoo and multiple kinds of face/eye area cleansers and wipes. Some of them are specifically made for tear stains under and around eyes. All of which are very gentle due to being used on face (I won’t put anything in their eyes of course). I have my own electric clippers that are specially designed to just be used on animals. I also have my own grooming scissor kit. The scissor kit has multiple sizes, shapes and safety guards on the ends to help prevent accidental cuts. I am also used to administering medications to both dogs and cats. (Liquid and pill form). I am able to achieve this without it being “traumatic” for them. For example, taking a long time to get the animals to ingest meds or having to try more than once or twice (sometimes twice for those REALLY finicky cats or dogs but very rare situation). I have special techniques to get the job done in the fastest and safest way possible. More about me: I worked in a specialty hospital for dogs and cats (Veterinary office) in San Diego for just about 10 years. I had the pleasure of working with some of the top, Board Certified Dermatologists, Internists and Orthopedic Surgeons.... in the country (I can provide more info upon hire). Because I have worked in the Veterinary field, I have experience with all of the services that I have listed. Some of my previous regular customers were actually Veterinarians that I worked for in the office! I am a very knowledgeable person when it comes to the health and safety of animals and I know how to appropriately and safely react to most types of situations. I always keep updated lists of emergency 24 hour vet offices that are close to the location of where I’m pet sitting. I like to be prepared ahead of time, JUST IN CASE because you never know when your loved ones may need special care. (I would of course let you know first thing, if ANY type of a situation occurs). I love to send picture updates so that you can see your special loved ones as well. {FYI}_I live in a tri-plex and not an apartment complex. It is more If a house feel than apartment feel. I have grass right out front, my own driveway, my own walkway and a fence that helps close off my grass area. It is not all the way fenced so I would never leave an animal without supervision. It is a great area for dog play and I use it as such, frequently. ******Rates can always be discussed with me since every single situation is different from one another. Please ask me! I normally trim nails for free if it’s needed. It makes their paws feel so much better. I do not mind bathing for little to no cost- depending on the situation and the animals behavior as well as the length of stay. I just ask that you provide shampoo and a towel. Again, we can discuss many many options so don’t be afraid to ask.

Meagan was great! Trixie loved her, and she took amazing care of our girl. Lots of cuddles and walks, and she even gave her a bath and clipped her nails for us! We will definitely book with her again next time we go out of town.

Megan was wonderful! Super communicative and sent me lots of pictures of my two dudes. I came home to two very tired and happy dogs.

Meagan has been a lifesaver ! I work crazy hours and I didn’t want to give up on my dog. She is dependable, flexible, and worth every penny! My lil one looks forward to being with Meagan and that’s a great comfort for me while I’m at work.

Meagan has been amazing with my Yorkshire terrier and treats him like her own. She has a gentle nature that animals are drawn to. In addition to pet sitting she does a great job with bathing and clipping. We have been very fortunate to have her working with Hotdog.

Information Meagan Z. would like to know about your pet

- I’d like to know daily routine as detailed as possible. I want to make sure they continue to have their routine throughout the day so that they can feel as comfortable as possible. - I prefer smaller dogs while boarding at my home (25lbs or less is my idea of “smaller”) I accept all sizes though it all depends on the situation. If I go stay at your home, any size is on with me at any time. - does your fur baby sleep in a crate, in their own bed or yours. -When you leave the house and need to leave them alone for a bit, how do you leave them. In a crate, in a small blocked off area, free roam? I love animals so they are always welcome anywhere in my home but again I want to make them feel as comfortable as possible so I like to know what they are used to. I also like to know how frequently they have accidents or “mark” as well. I understand 100% all animals have accidents and a lot of male dogs will “mark”. I prefer honesty so that I can keep a close eye on them is all. I know dogs very very well and if I am made aware of these cases, I can make sure to keep close enough eyes in them and not have it happen. So honesty is best! -how does your baby due with car rides? If we go to the park I will need to drive there so I want to make sure they are totally fine with care rides before any attempts are made. -litter box must come with any cat. I do not have one as it is not a good idea to have multiple cats using one box. They will smell the scent of the cat that’s used it before them (after cleaning the box they may still pick up a scent) which makes them more likely to go somewhere else in the house. Bring pooper scooper please! - what are their triggers?

A typical day

I make sure to get a walk in for the dogs at least three times a day minimum. When it is nice outside I will drive to a nice park to walk around at. If they are water friendly I can take them down to Ruston Way (On nice days of course!) If your dog likes to play with toys and play fetch, I always go outside to my grass area and play with them. I have a private grass area and even though it’s not fenced off fully, it’s partially fenced so it works good when playing with supervision. I like to leave my patio door open on nice days for the dogs to go in and out as they please. My patio is fully fenced. Ive has NO escapes to date. Very secure.
