We encountered a few issues with our pup's stay with this sitter. We booked weeks in advance with a solid drop-off time for a week long stay. The day of I received a text asking if we could drop our dog off an hour earlier. This wasn't possible as I was at work. When I went to drop off our dog, I was greeted by our sister's partner, who told us our sitter was out to dinner with friends and wouldn't be able to meet us. This of course made me uncomfortable, as I would have liked to meet the person who would be taking care of my pup for the next 8 days. But, I had already paid and the flight was soon so I had to leave him. The sitter missed sending a photo one day and didn't provide much in the way of updates. Halfway through our trip I received a text that there had been a mishap. I had given the sitter explicit instructions that my dog needed to be crated AND muzzled when the sitter left him alone in the house. He has extreme separation anxiety and will chew his way out of his crate and damage his teeth on the metal bars if left without his muzzle. The sitter decided to leave him in the crate without the muzzle because he had been good that day. As a result, our crate got damaged. There was a reason we gave the instructions we did and it felt disrespectful that our sitter thought they knew better than us after months of training and trial and error to get our dog where he is with his crate training (the muzzle allows him to pant and self-soothe so he calms down while not allowing him to chew on his kennel). I'm leaving 3 stars despite our complaints because our dog seemed genuinely happy when I picked him up and I hope that the sitter can learn from these mistakes and be where she says she's going to be for future clients and follow through on all instructions left for her.
