I grew up with dogs, and have had dogs around ever since. My family dog lives over near Seattle with my parents currently. I sometimes go back to the west side on long weekends, so if I pet-sit your pup over there, then she will be there. She is now 6 years old, very calm and well socialized, so she makes a good roommate for other dogs who are staying. I currently have a dog and a cat in our household. My dog, Hudson, is a Dachshund-pit mix and loves having buddies around. He is a great little hiker and has a lot of energy so we go on a lot of hikes/long walks. I work from 9 to 5 during the week and am a homebody on the weekends. I hike Moscow mountain and/or Kamiak nearly every weekend so your pup would be welcome to join in on that. The nice thing about my work is that I am only about 5 minutes from my work, so I go home at lunch and take the dogs for a walk to break up the day for them. I also take them for a longer evening walk after. I allow Hudson up on the couches and he sleeps in bed with me so if it is ok with you, they could also do that. I am experienced with dogs who need daily oral medicine, and have given medication via shots before, but if that is the case I would prefer more detailed instructions so that it would be sure to go smoothly with your dog while I am on my own. If you would prefer me to stay at your home with your dog, then I could do that, but my only contingency would be that I would need to bring Hudson along with me. He is housetrained and shorthaired.
