Pet care experience
When I began watching other peoples' pets, my mom called me home for dinner, to which I replied, "I can't come home yet--I just pet the cat for 30 minutes, so now I need to pet the dog for 30 minutes too!" I love all furry animals, and I'll love yours just as much. I've been caring for pets since the age of four, and caring for others' since I was 8. I grew up with a sheltie my entire life, and am now happy to be the mother to a sweet Nova Scotia retriever and Abyssinian cat. I've cared for dogs ranging in size from a chihuahua to a golden retriever, and have cared for many different cat breeds as well. I'm flexible to your needs, timing and all other accommodations. I’m more than happy to bring treats or take your pup to a nearby trail if they prefer a park over neighborhood sidewalk. I'll keep you updated throughout all care services with texts and pictures, and ensure your pets have fun and are safe the entire time. I have lots of experience with anxious dogs and am happy to take as much time as needed for them to trust me. I can easily crate your dog if needed and always have a very watchful eye while they’re in a yard or on a walk. I make sure a collar/harness is secure before leaving on a walk, and will never leave a home without making sure the animal has fresh water and is worn out from playtime! PLEASE NOTE: Due to service and/or WiFi available on both client and sitter’s end, Rover card delivery may be delayed until client manually selects “retry” on app once service/WiFi is available. **I always put your pets’ safety first and will never place them in an unsafe situation. If I ever have any concerns, I’ll be sure to communicate effectively.**

McKenna took great care of my 2 kittens while I was out of town. She even gave them some extra play time on days when they were hyper. I will definitely trust her to watch them again!
McKenna took great care of our new pup. She provided several long walks, giving our pup some time to burn energy. We will definitely ask McKenna to help us again next time.

Whenever I’m preparing for a drop-in visit, I love to know all your pet’s quirks - so feel free to tell me your dog’s favorite toys, where your cat likes to hide, if they have a favorite treat, etc. I’ll customize my drop-in visits to meet your animal’s needs. If they need a lot of exercise, I’ll happily play with them the entire time. If they just need some company, I’ll sit next to them and pet them until they’re relaxed and comfortable during your absence! I will always triple-check that doors are locked, gates are closed, and animals are safe before leaving your home. You can also expect multiple pictures of your pet and a detailed description of my visit with them. :)

Prior to booking, please let me know if your dog is aggressive, shy or nervous around strangers, or doesn't like when someone does something in particular, such as pet them in a certain spot (my dog used to hate when people touched her ears!) Please also let me know if they tug particularly hard on a leash or if they can't be around other animals (so I know to cross the street when approaching another.) Finally, let me know what your pet loves! Does he love belly rubs? Does she love to play tug-of-war? I want to make sure your pet has the best time possible, so be sure and tell me what will make them happiest!
A typical day
Based upon your pets' preferences, we can go on walks to dog parks, trails, public parks and more. If they're an active breed, rest assured that I consistently go jogging with my own personal dog and will have no problem keeping up with yours! We can play fetch, frisbee, chase and any other games your pet enjoys. If you have a cat, we can play all they want, or if they prefer to lounge around--don't worry, I love petting them just as much!

Availability
I work second shift (1p-11p) but it’s very flexible, meaning I’m almost always able to pop out during my work hours to come check on your furry friend! I rarely take days off and am typically in town, so feel free to reach out - I’m most likely available to watch your beloved pet. :)
