Pet care experience
I have shared my house and heart with animals since childhood. I've had dogs (sometimes multiple dogs at a time), cats (also several simultaneously), birds, fish, guinea pigs and rabbits. We even had a pet deer at one time. I'm a docent trainee and volunteer at the Oakland Zoo and have volunteered with Fix our Ferals, the East Bay SPCA, and other pet rescue organizations. I care deeply about all animals. I have a spiritual connection with cats and dogs and believe that my superpower is animal communication. I am sensitive to and can read a dog's body language. I can quickly calm down an agitated and excited dog and am familiar with The Tellington Touch. I'm patient with housetraining, firm but loving with obedience training, and know how to enrich a dog's life experience.

Maya was awesome!! We needed someone to take care of our Tofu over the holidays and Maya was everything we were looking for. Her place is huge! She has a big front and backyard that is a perfect dog oasis. If your dog is high-energy like ours, having lots of space makes a difference. Maya sent us pictures and videos every day. She is easy to communicate with. Maya is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and did not interpret Tofu's playfulness as aggressive, as most people do. I felt 100% confident that Tofu was in good hands. Maya's dog, Cash, is so cute and friendly. I can tell Tofu really misses them. I highly recommend Maya and we will definitely book with her for our next vacation.
Leaving Kysa with Maya and her dog Cash for 8 days was definitely a great decision on our part! We turned to DogVacay after multiple experiences with pet boarding centers where she was left in a cage all day, only to come out dehydrated and smelly. With Maya she got to play with her dog Cash and other dogs who came to board with Maya and she was completely cage-free! She received lots of love and care and we even got videos and pictures every day to update us on Kysa! To top it off, Maya even gave us some recommendations to help with Kysa's eating schedule which was very nice because we were having problems with that. It just goes to show how much experience she has with dogs, giving us more peace of mind with our decision! Thank you Maya, we will definitely be returning!
Maya was great in caring for our English Bull Terrier, Scrappy while we were away on Thanksgiving vacation. She sent us updates and pictures and really spoiled Scrappy! Her gentle dog Cash was an absolute perfect fit for our rambunctious Scrappy. They were good buddies! We would definitely recommend her to anyone and will be contacting her again!
Maya genuinely cares for all domestic and stray animals that she rescues. She enjoys walking, playing, housing and communicating with her dog and will be a wonderful caregiver for your family pet. I know that Maya will be one of the best human dog caregiver to contact.
