As Maya's brother, from as far back as I could remember, she has always been extremely loving and vulnerable toward animals. Seeing a commercial of the abused and neglected animals always touched her in a way nothing else could. She started early off aspiring to be a veterinarian. That prospective career might be one of the past or maybe reserved for another time, however, the love for animals has always been consistent.
