Experienced Animal Caretaker
Pet care experience
Accepting requests from previous clients! I am a third year pre-veterinary college student, experienced animal caretaker and animal lover. I have 8 years of animal experience, including large dogs, special needs & senior animals, and reptiles. I worked at a dog daycare for 3 years, and currently work at an animal hospital. I have worked with several animal rescues, including K9 Lifesavers in Virginia, and volunteered with Whiskers Benevolent League Albany for 5 years. I have been doing private dog walking and pet sitting for the past 6 years. I am also American Red Cross Certified for Dog and Cat First Aid.
Reviews
We had a last minute trip come up and Maya quickly responded to my booking request. She came by to meet my dogs and they instantly took to her. Plans changed several times and she took my multiple texts in stride. When we got home, everything was perfect and as we left it. Most importantly, the pups were happy!
Maya is very sweet and was super kind to our pups!
Maya was professional, responsive, and took great care of my little guy. You and your beloved pet are in great hands with her.
Maya was a wonderful sitter for my dog! Easy to communicate with and sent pictures while I was away. Will definitely book with her again!

Safety, trust & environment
I have experience working with crate trained dogs and free roam dogs as well as trained and untrained dogs, and would make sure to continue your animal’s normal routines when caring for them in your home in order to make sure they are comfortable and well cared for. I think consistency with pets is important.
Information Maya D. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know if your dog has any special needs, medical conditions, anxieties, medications, special instructions, allergies, or anything else that would affect their every day life. I have experience working with special needs animals such as cerebellar hypoplasia, as well as senior animals. I also have experience administering medication so that is no problem at all.
A typical day
I know that mental and physical stimulation is really important for dogs. I would love to play with them, give them some love, and make their walks pleasant and exciting by keeping them engaged and burning some energy. I will go the pace that matches your dog’s temperament and respect their boundaries!

Availability
my availability is more limited due to my college classes, but I can accommodate certain requests. When you request, let me know the times you would like the service for and I can see whether or not it’s doable! The more in advance the request is sent, the more likely I can accommodate.
