Hi! I’m Maya! The main reason I wanted to work with animals and become a dog sitter is because of my 15-year-old pooch, Binga. My love for her inspires me to make other pet owners' dogs feel the same love and compassion. When I was seventeen, I gained hands-on experience while volunteering at an animal clinic in Murphy, Texas. Then during my first semester at the University of Miami, I joined the service animal training organization (UPUP) where I learned how to walk the dogs and teach them restraint. I even learned canine CPR. When I returned to Dallas during breaks from school, I would pet sit around the neighborhood. Eventually, I heard about Rover and thought, Why not turn this occasional passion into a career? I also work part time in entertainment. Because of my schedule, I mostly prefer house sitting. It’s easier for me to drive over to your home rather than having a dog by my side at every event I attend. My biggest solution to providing excellent customer to my canine clients is simply treating every dog and cat like they're my own!

Best dog sitter we’ve ever! Maya is exceptionally competent and handled our leash-pulling dog with ease. She truly cares about your pet…when it got hot, she bought a fan to keep him cool ? I’ve never had more confidence in a dog-sitter.
Maya watched Langston for two nights while I was out of town for a conference. She went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable and easy. She took Langston on several walks each day and even let him visit the university campus. Maya stayed at my house overnight and was super respectful and tidy. When I got home, I could not tell anyone had even been there. Langston was in a great mood when I returned and did not seem stressed or anxious at all. Maya was awesome at sending frequent pictures and updates, so I was always in the loop about their whereabouts. Having Maya as a sitter completely took the stress out of leaving town. I had no worries that Langston was being loved, fed, and well taken care of.
Maya was fantastic with my pups! She helped them and me feel very comfortable. Thanks for everything!

When I’m caring fir pets in your home I try to make it as close to their normal schedule as possible. Whether it be feeding them on time, watching their favorite show, or playing with their favorite toy, I want to make it seem as close to routine as life is when their owner is away. I’m essentially a more energetic babysitter for your pet, so I endure to be as fun and responsible as I can be!

When I pet sit, I always ask the owner if they're okay with me taking their dog out and about either by their home or my home. I would also like to know if your pup has any triggers or fears that might come up during our time together. If so, what are the best ways to help them through it? If I’ll be walking your dog, would you like me to take a certain route or walk them a specific distance? And lastly, if your fur baby has a favorite TV show that helps them get some rest, I’d like to know that too. I love all breeds, but I absolutely gush over Huskies, Pomeranians, Shih-Tzus, Australian Shepherds, Yorkies, German shepherds, Rottweilers, and King Charles Cavalier Spaniels! I adore cats as well, so if you have any feline friends in your home that need sitting, I would love to spend time with them as well.
A typical day
I respond to requests in a timely manner –– usually within ten minutes. When I pet sit, I’ll bring all the necessary supplies with me, even though pet owners usually have everything I need at their homes. During the stay, I’ll also make sure to send you adorably informative updates. When we go on walks, I prefer to take dogs around their neighborhood because it’s what they’re most familiar with. If they stay with me, I enjoy walking pups around the Marina by my apartment and around my apartment complex’s Dog Spa, so we can play and even through around a frisbee. Pet owners should book with me because I'm basically the Miss Universe of dog sitters –– and by that, I mean that I'm extremely well-rounded. I’m a 23-year-old former student athlete, so I have plenty of energy to go on walks, play outside, and wrestle with my furry friends. I look forward to meeting your pooch!

Availability
I’m current working part time, so I have plenty of time to check on your pets! I can do dog sitting throughout the week, boarding on weekends, and walks/drop-ins on any day of the week. My main routine is booking out my walking and drop-in schedule each morning, then completing them from late morning the the afternoon.
