Pet care experience
Hello Bend! I'm Max, and I'm an experienced pet caregiver with a lifelong history of caring for animal companions 🐕 From a young age I've shared my life with, cared for, and raised both cats and dogs, cultivating a deep understanding of their unique needs and personalities along the way. Additionally, I've had the valuable opportunity to work at a reputable, small/local-business dog daycare and boarding facility. This matured my skills in communicating with clients/parents regarding every aspect of their dog's experience, in managing and blending different types of care (ex. boarding/daycare/walks/group play/bathing), in directing the collective energy of groups of dogs both big and small, and instilled in me the importance of maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for 20-40 dogs at any given time. In addition to my boarding/daycare employment background, I've also experience in offering independent pet care services through platforms like Rover and Wag. Currently, my focus is on structured walks and drop-in visits, with potential for house/pet-sitting arrangements (to be discussed). I'm not offering boarding at this time. I do require an initial meet-and-greet visit and proof of vaccination/relevant medical history before accepting new clients/parents.

Max rocks! He watched our two dogs (40lb springer spaniel and 60 lb lab who both are a handful) for a week. They’re both quirky but warmed up to him within a day. He sent tons of pictures and updates which kept us feeling relaxed while we were gone. He was timely and professional and sent confirmations for feeding and medication schedules. A++ will book Max again!
Max is kind, generous, knowledgeable, and experienced, and he was absolutely wonderful when he house-sat and took care of my two pit bulls for five nights on short notice! On the days he worked at his other job, he used his break time to come home to check on them and let them out, and on the days he had off, he spent time with them at home and made sure they got lots of play time and snuggle time. He even texted me seriously beautiful pictures of them every day and I could see that they were all having tons of fun. Even more amazing is that when one of my dogs unexpectedly got sick (uh oh!), he spent extra time looking after her and making sure she was mellow and comfortable until she was back to her silly, happy self the next day. Max was also the perfect house-sitter. When I got home there was almost no sign that he had even been there! I am truly grateful to him for taking such good care of my family. He has my trust and I will definitely call him the next time I go out of town. Hire Max! You will not regret it.

Maxon was great. He has a gentle spirit that immediately put me at ease (I was hesitant to hire a male dog walker). He connected well with my pup and even agreed to give him a bath for an added fee. I was surprised my dog let him bath him so he obviously connected with him well. I received a detailed report after the walk including pics and a video which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend!

I prefer to spend the majority of walk-time as far away from vehicle traffic as possible (leaning toward parks, pedestrian-only areas) 🏞️ and I always defer to parent/client preferences and routes. I tend toward more structured walks (usually 75% focused/directed-energy pace, 25% rest/exploring/sniffing/marking), and similarly for drop-ins, I try to tend toward incorporating focused energy-expending activities in addition to basic care (food/potty-breaks)

I do require an initial meet-and-greet visit before a first walk/drop-in. For walks, I'm most interested in your overall impression of your dog's general behaviors/tendencies during outings, especially how they've interacted with other dogs/small children, and just a general rundown of their likes/dislikes while on a lead. For drop-ins, I'd want to know how you think they'd handle an unaccompanied-by-a-familiar-face person (that they've only briefly met before) entering their home. I require proof of vaccination and keep an updated personal record with expiration dates. I'm currently only working with spayed/neutered adult dogs/cats, and unaltered puppies/kittens under 9 months of age.
A typical day
Activities in which I have the most experience include walking (open to jogging/going at a faster pace upon discussion), reward-based training review (i.e. reinforcing commands like 'sit'), toy-based activities, and light grooming (upon discussion). I also have experience in recording videos/taking pictures while maintaining a safe solo/group environment, and I always enjoy keeping clients/parents updated with a visual/text summary of my time with their companion.
