Pet care experience
Previously my name on here was Max (: sorry for any confusion! It was my nickname when i started doing rover but i no longer go by that, thank you for your understanding! As of June 2021 Rover is my full time job, I want to give the best care that i can for the pets that i sit. I have been doing rover since 2016. I have 2 dogs of my own that are cared for by my awesome roommates while i am busy dog siting. I volunteered at the Front Street Animal shelter for about 3 years. I have taken all 3 dog handling classes in addition to the dog body language classes. That has definitely given me a better understanding of how dogs communicate and what they need to be happy and healthy. It also has given me a chance to work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Including, elderly dogs, disabled, puppies, shy/timid, and hyper or energetic dogs. I also have experience with basic training. I have fostered and found homes for several dogs on my own time. I feel confident in my ability to provide a calm and positive experience for your dog. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your pets!

When house sitting i do my best to keep the energy in the home low, creating a relaxed environment for the pets and trying to ease any stress/separation anxiety they may be feeling. Exercise and attention play a big part in keeping pets happy and i try to make sure each individual animal gets the right ammount of both.

Some helpful things for me to know- 1. Has your pet been sat before? 2. Does your dog resource guard food or toys? 3. Does your dog get separation anxiety? 4. How often does your dog need potty breaks? 5. How many walks per day does your dog need? 6. Where are they left when no one is home? 7. How much/often would you like me to update you throughout a stay?
A typical day
In the hot months i like to start the days with breakfast and a walk to get the dogs energy out while it’s cooler. Durring the summer i will not walk your dog between the hours of 11am-6pm, please understand that it is for your dogs safety. Plenty of attention and potty breaks throughout the day, and an additional walk in the evening if needed. At night i don’t mind pets sleeping with me or sleeping freely in the home. Unless requested by the owner for the dog to be crated or comfined to a room. Please ask for any more details or requests.
