Pet care experience
I have worked with animals my whole life. For the past year I have worked full-time as a dog-walker/pet sitter. Prior to that I trained service dogs, was a medical scheduler at the Humane Society, and worked at a vet clinic as a tech. I have just about every aspect covered except grooming. I have also worked at a professional show dog kennel where I socialized puppies and helped ringside. I have yet to find a dog that does not like me. I have lots of animal experience, not just dogs. I love them all!!

I moved to Madison a little over two years ago with my then, 6 month-old golden retriever Wayland, and soon found out that apartment living with a dog, and living alone to boot is not always the easiest. It didn't take long before I began looking for somebody to help with Wayland on a couple of my busier days, and was introduced to Maureen through a local pet-walking agency. Maureen has been helping with Wayland for well over a year now, despite learning of various daycares, and pet-sitters through different friends and acquaintances. The reason I've stuck with Maureen is the same reason I volunteered to write a review for her. Yes, she's highly professional, punctual, and reliable, but most important for me, she loves my dog. I can see in the way she talks about her other clients (the dogs), that it's not just my dog either. She just loves dogs. It's clear in the way they react to her, that they adore her in turn; she just has a natural instinct with them. She'll continue to get my business as long as SHE'S in business, and I would happily recommend anyone who is looking for a helping hand on long days at work or when heading out of town to contact Maureen for an appointment.

I like to know just about everything from the get go. First if the dog has any medical issues that need to be watched for. Also if the dog has any aggressive tendencies when around other dogs. I also like to know their favorite toys or favorite activities and their usual routine. I can work with any and every dog!!
A typical day
I prefer a more country setting so if your dog and you are okay with going to a dog park I will go there most often. I also appreciate the many trails through state parks, conservancies and along the lake. Of course if there is not a fence the dog will stay leashed. But for the high energy dogs I have a chuck-it, throw ball, frisbee, or rough house. It is whatever the dog likes to do best, that is what I try to accommodate.
