Pet care experience
I have been a dog lover, owner, and caretaker for over 14 years. Dogs are our friends, and I want to ensure they get the best care possible. If your pet has any special needs, please let me know when booking services, and how I can appropriately accommodate them.
Reviews
Maura has such a passion for taking care of and working with dogs. She has spent most of her life teaching herself how to train dogs and she used the skills she learned to train her own dog to do most anything. While interactibg with any dog she showers them in the most love and attention she can give! You will not regret letting Maura care for your dog and your dog will love Maura like she's one of the family!
About Maura H.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
If your dog pulls on a leash, I suggest that they wear either a front-clip/"no pull" harness or head halter, such as Gentle Leader. I carry treats with me, but will use your own treats if provided, or no treats if requested. Pets should have easy access to fresh, clean water and a place to stay cool in the summer heat. Do not leave slip/choke collars on your dog unattended. Make sure toys are appropriate for your dog's size and strength, and that they are not choking hazards. I am not providing afternoon walking services during the summer because of Florida's hot pavement that could hurt a dog's paws, and high possibility of lightning and thunderstorms.
Information Maura H. would like to know about your pet
Health issues and behavioral concerns are necessary for me to know, for everyone's safety. At this time, I am not offering services for client dogs that are aggressive/reactive. (Friendly/excited barking is fine.) A meet-and-greet can be setup if you want to make sure your dog and I are a good match. All dogs (and cats) should have an up-to-date rabies vaccination status.
A typical day
Walks can be beneficially mentally stimulating as well as physically, so I like to give my dog clients some time to sniff their surroundings. For drop-ins, I would be happy to play with your dog in a safely enclosed area, such as a fenced-in yard.
