My name is Mattie Schmidt and I am a rising senior at the University of Alabama. I am excited about the opportunity to work with animals, especially dogs, as I have been a dog lover since I was very young. I have experience with all types of dogs, big and small. My family has always had at least two dogs. Right now we have a 6 year old Golden Retriever named Coal and a 14 year old Cavalier named Posey. I live in Florida for the summer with my friend and have been missing having my dogs around! I am very active and go on long walks daily. Posey is an older dog, and I have experience giving her medications and walking slowly with her since she has arthritis. In addition to walking my dogs, I have also taken care of my neighbors’ dogs, including walking, feeding, even house sitting. With me, you will have a cheerful, reliable dog walker who knows how security alarms work, and who can follow directions very well. I am flexible, cheerful and responsible and I have great references. I will be available through the end of August. Thank you for your consideration!

My dog absolutely adores Mattie! He gets so excited when he sees her car drive up and he’s constantly looking out the window when it gets close to ‘Mattie Time.’ Not only is she great with dogs, I trust her to come walk my dog even when I’m not home. Mattie is a fantastic dog sitter! She takes care of my two beloved pups Belle and Bruno frequently when I go out of town. She is a huge dog lover and fantastic with animals. She is also good with dogs of all ages -- helping make sure my older dog (10) takes her medications daily and playing with my younger pup (1) with lots of energy! I highly recommend Mattie to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter who will take excellent care of your dog(s)!

A typical day
I love to walk on the beach but also love to walk on the streets of ocean drive south/ Duval up to ponte vedra. I usually take very long walks but would definitely do shorter walks if necessary.
