Former Vet Assistant and now PA

Pet care experience

I am a licensed science teacher who transitioned into the world of animal medicine and now human medicine. I have actively worked in a variety of specialty hospitals and currently support a family medical practice in Soquel. Not only can you feel confident that your pet will be taken care of by a professional in the field , but know that I have completed animal training courses that will be useful if I am walking your pet or positively reinforcing new expectations while house sitting. With regards to house sitting, I am trained and certified to administer injections, oral medications , and comfortable with pets who may need extra care (e.g. animals that are blind, feeding tubes, etc) . I am also open to more questions with regards to my training and background, so please do not hesitate to ask.

Matt is fantastic! Our pup got sick the day before we left, but Matt is so knowledgeable, patient, competent, and kind that we didn't need to worry a bit. Matt took excellent care of her and kept us updated all the way. Our dog is always so happy to hang with Matt! Thank you so much!!!!

This was the second time Matthew watched our dog while we were away. We got frequent updates and cute pictures showing us that our pup was happy and doing well. Thank you Matthew!

Matt stayed with our girl in our house for a week, and sent daily updates and pictures of them snuggling. Matt gave her daily oral pills, her once weekly injectable shot, and bathed her for us! Our pup seemed super happy to spend time with Matt, and we would definitely recommend him for anyone looking for pet sitting!

We were gone for a week and Matthew did great House sitting our 3 doggies. They can be a lot to handle sometimes and one needs insulin as well and Matthew handled them all really well. They loved him immediately. He gave us daily updates and photos specific to each dog which we loved. We will definitely reach out again for future sits.

Information matthew-lowe26 would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they are up to date on vaccinations, do they know any commands or phrases to help support their ability to walk with me. Do they react to stimulus (eg other dogs or bicycles) ?

A typical day

I like to find local spots where I can take the pet routinely to get them familiar and feel safe. I do have a vehicle where I can safely transport them to a well known trail or park if the owner has recommendations. I am also open to physical activity (throwing ball, obstacle course , etc) for pets that tend to have more energy.
