Canine Adventure Time

Pet care experience

I'm Matt and  the proud owner of Canine Adventure Time. I am an Armed forces veteran and formerly worked with the Emergency Services. And having enjoyed many years in both roles I decided it was the right time to start a new chapter in my life and break away from the hustle and bustle and be my own boss. Nothing excites me more than being outdoors in the rural countryside, come rain or shine. Through the woods and fields and along the lesser trodden routes of the Thames Path. I am a self confessed animal lover and canines are my thing. I have owned, loved and walked many canine companions over the years. And after fulfilling my ambitions, I am now living the dream of owning my own business and working outside with animals and specifically, canines.  When you are  away your canines and other pets will be far happier staying at home than being boarded in kennels or a cattery. I can care for your canines and other pets in their own secure and familiar surroundings. As well as carrying out daily chores such as, Watering the plants and garden if needed. Take in any parcels and letters, open and close the curtains in the morning and evening and switching lights on and off as required. Your home will be safe, secure and lived in and ready for when you return without having the worry of any emergencies, such as burst water pipes, electricity failure or even burglars. This could also assist with keeping your home insurance premiums down.  Don't place  your canine or other pets under any unnecessary  stress or anxiety. They totally depend on you, and you can totally depend on me! If you are planning a trip away, have an impending vacation or an unexpected commitment contact me now and I will endeavour to assist you. I hold the following certificates and qualifications; Dog First Aid  (first aid kit carried on all adventures) Pet Care Business Diploma Canine Behaviour Training Diploma Pet Bereavement Support Diploma I  have; A Home Boarding Licence Number - W/20/00920/ANIMAL issued by West Oxfordshire District Council. Graded as 4 star and issued to Matthew Ladd (Do not board your pets with anyone who has not got a valid licence) Full Pet Insurance liability with Protectivety DBS police checked (to hold your keys and collect your pet or enter your property if you can't be there. Ask to see my certificates and qualifications when you meet me. Fully COVID aware and compliant, I will ware a mask if meeting you inside your home and rub your canine down once walked.

I would completely recommend Matt to house sit. Winnie loved him from the moment she met him, and even Bertie our standoffish cat was happy to take tickles. Loved getting regular updates and pics of their adventures. House was immaculate when we got back. Will definitely be using him again.

I highly recommend Matt. I wouldn’t use anyone else now. Puddy absolutely loves him, and I really enjoyed getting updates about her adventures when I was away. Straight away I could tell Puddy liked Matt which is very important to me. Matt stayed in my spare room, he is friendly, tidy and trust worthy. He also looked after my plants and brought in the mail. Matt didn’t mind all my questions, and quickly put my mind at ease about being away. Puddy had a super time with Matt, and she will definitely be booked on to some long adventure walks!

Matthew has pet sat for my dog Rosie twice now and walks her regularly. He is very professional and reliable and it’s very reassuring to know my dog is in safe hands. Matthew is knowledgable on a wide range of doggy topics and has helped me with some training issues with Rosie. Rosie enjoys her time with Matthew and always comes back happy and relaxed. Would highly recommend.

Matthew looked after my Labrador Bella for a week in my own home. I felt very reassured and confident that my home and Bella were in professional safe hands. Matthew updated me regularly which gave me peace of mind, including photos of Bella having fun. Matthew has a great understanding and compassion on animals and was able to help with Bella's anxiety difficulties. Bella is now a regular on Matthew's Canine Adventure walks and I highly recommend him

Information Matthew L. would like to know about your pet

I am very experienced with all types and breeds from the miniature dachshunds to Patrick, the giant Mastiff (see gallery) What is your canine's temperament? Do they get on with other canine's? How good is there recall? Solo walks can be arranged if required.

A typical day

Most of my walks are along the Thames lesser trodden foot paths where every canine is fitted with a sports harness and a tracker. I only walk two dogs at a time meaning more fun and attention is given to each. I recommend a two hour walk for the more energetic canine where there is always a nice watering hole built into the activity, Safe off the lead walking and safe river swimming (depending on the season) only with the owners written permission. Your canine will have the best time.
