I am an experienced dog "brother" AND "uncle" - a wholehearted dog lover and enthusiastic walker. Currently located in Portland, OR, but am open to providing limited services to my former/existing clients in the Greater Seattle Area. Please email me for information. Any family member of yours will be a part of my own for the duration of a stay or walk. I grew up around primarily smaller-to-mid sized dogs, but am happy with dogs of all sizes! Dog or House Sitting: I know boarding our loved ones can be rough, and the good boarders are often booked months in advance (and cost a lot - I know ours did). Worried about where to keep your dog while you visit family or friends during the holidays? Fear not - I'll be around most holidays. What can I say? I love the Pacific Northwest too much to leave. Dog Walking: I am an active guy who loves animals, especially dogs, and will make sure any larger dogs receive the attention and exercise he or she needs - and will follow any special guidelines you might have for your best friend or furbaby. If you would prefer off leash time to a standard walk - I come fully equipped with dog-friendly transportation.

Matt is without a doubt THE best Rover sitter you could ask for. He house sat and took great care of my two dogs. He was in touch on a regular basis with pictures and notes about how the day was going. He vacuumed my house and it was spotless when my wife and I got home. He is a DREAM.
Matthew was excellent again with my dog’s stay. I forgot to bring food in the morning rush of dropping her off ... and Matthew offered to purchase the exact dog food beand and type.

While in my home, all dogs are the center of attention. I currently live in a large studio loft with lots of play room and a large outdoor patio. There are no hazardous items within reach of the dogs at any time. The building is secure and as a unit owner I am particularly attuned to all obligations regarding the safety and stability of dogs placed under my care.

I have no breed preferences, and require only that dogs be fully housebroken. It is important for them to also be obedient as far as recall goes, especially as this is an urban environment. Anything beyond "Come" - or your preferred recall command - is a bonus.
A typical day
Daily walks (in all weather) in the Pearl District or local trails and/or play time one of the off-leash parks. I am open to all ideas and would love to work with you on finding the best activities for your pup.

Animal care is my full time job. Taking the best care of our fur friends is my ongoing priority. While my schedule varies from day to day or week to week, you can guarantee the schedule rotates solely around caring for our fur-friends.
