Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Matthew, and I'm here for you guys-- the ones that need someone last minute, or want someone trustworthy to look after your dog at home for a length of time. I've been caring for dogs since 13. Since then, I've sat around 100 different dogs in Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and New York City over the course of 13 years. I'm a full-time student, and Rover is what I do in my spare time to earn some cash and meet people from all over NYC! I love having repeat clients because there is more of a friendship there compared to QuickWalks. I currently have two dogs, a shepherd-terrier mix named Benji, age 3, and a tank of a pit bull lab mix with special needs, age 12. They both live out of state on my mother's farm in Alabama. Matthew was by EVERY account a fantastic companion for Sabo while I was away for the weekend. Sabo clearly enjoyed himself and got some great exercise on his walks/runs. Matthew was EXCEPTIONALLY cool when my building gave him crap on the first appointment, and rolled with the punches. Sabo and I very much look forward to working with Matthew again!

I am a man of smaller stature so I do have better time walking a dog (that is leash trained) that is under 40 lbs. Animals above 50 lbs will be taken into consideration on a case by case basis. I love all dogs, and don't deny due to breed alone. Please be mindful of their temperament, you know them better than I do. Let me know ahead of time if there has been any past history that may be relevant.
A typical day
I love walking through parks rather than the streets, so we will be walking in the direction of the nearest park and walk the trails for about half an hour. If there's a dog park, we can stop to play and run before walking back home. Indoor games are just as fun too; of course the smaller the dog, the easier it is to play inside. Whether or not if you have a supply of toys, I'll turn your dog into a nice sweet pup resting on the floor!.
