Always There For A Dog In Need

Pet care experience

I'm becoming a pet sitter because my favorite part of each day is taking my three dogs for a walk, and I know I could enjoy doing more of this to help others! After all, what’s not to love about dogs? They are fun to play with, to work with, and are always excited to see me! I always love working with animals, so getting to work full-time with them really is a dream come true. My main experience comes largely from owning and raising from my own dogs. I currently have three dogs and couldn’t be happier! In 18 years of caring for animals, my wife and I have rescued many injured and lost dogs from the street and have been there for the old, sick and dying. We have lots of experience with dogs of all stripes, so we are happy to sit for dogs of all kinds. We typically like to schedule meet-and-greets when taking on new clients. When we first meet, I would allow your pup to approach me in their own time, offering my hand carefully. Then, if I'm accepted by them, I would get closer and pet them to show my affection. I like doing greets because it also allows us the chance to talk face-to-face about your expectations for the stay and to figure out what makes your dog tick! I would want to know if there is anything they are scared of or uncomfortable around, so that we avoid those things or work on overcoming our fears. During a stay, I’ll always make sure to follow your instructions with exactness. You can be assured that your pup will be properly fed, watered, and happy at all times! Of course, I’ll always be quick to respond to requests and needs of both you and your pup. Additionally, you can count on regular updates by way of text and picture messages so you can see just how your best friend is doing and get a glimpse into what we’ve done for the day.

Matt was great. He went above and beyond to make sure the dogs did not veer outside their normal routine. He also was great about sending pictures to put my wife at ease. Would recommend for anyone who is needing a pet-sitter!

Information Matt C. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

Although I always like to find out what your pup’s daily schedule is, I do like to have a general frame for what we’ll do together. In the morning, we’ll wake up and take a walk for about 30 minutes, then eat breakfast, then hang around the house for a few hours together. If there is a yard, we'll play in the yard in the afternoon (fetch or just running around) or head to the park. There are many great places around me, including lots of great nature trails and parks around the Chattahoochee River. They’re always great places to bring dogs, so I’d be happy to bring pups with me to explore. We’d go on another walk before dinner while it's still light, then dinner and relaxing in the house the rest of the night, with the occasional adventure outside to look at the stars or listen to the crickets.
