Professional Dog Care Experience
Pet care experience
My name is Matt, I’m 28 and have 5 years experience between 2 daycare/boarding businesses in Bloomington/Normal. I am very knowledgeable in dog behavior, safe handling, training, and expert care of all ages from puppy to elderly dogs who require special attention. I also have extensive experience in feeding, health, and administering medicine to dogs. I have had dogs for most of my life and grew up with them and currently have two 11 year olds as family pets that I have helped raise since high school. If you want the best possible care and attention for your dog, I have the experience and knowledge to ensure you that your dog is kept safe and happy. I am fully capable to care for the wellbeing of your companion and am able safely handle your dog, even if they do not get along well with other animals or are cautious of people they aren't familiar with.
Reviews
Matt was excellent to our animals and house. I was a little nervous due to minimal past reviews, but he far exceeded our expectations while we were gone for 8 days. I will definitely, no questions asked, have Matt watch our dogs and house again the next time, if he is available. Thanks again Matt, you are awesome!!
Matt exceeded my expectations, both in terms of the amount of time he spent with my dog and the quality of his communication with me. I would absolutely hire him again.
Matt is my son, so I can speak about him very knowingly. He has always been connected to animals--they have always gravitated to him. His kindness and warmth comfort all animals. He has been working at Paradise Pet for about 3 years now and he is able to work with all kinds of animals (dogs, cats, birds, etc). He can meet their various emotional and physical needs and is patient with them from puppy-hood to geriatric dogs. Matt will provide your animal love and comfort while you are away. I highly recommend him as a dog sitter.

Safety, trust & environment
The most important thing is to make sure their needs and requirements for their wellbeing and happiness is taken care of. When sitting the first thing I always do first is take them outside to go to the bathroom and once they're ready to go back in is usually when I check their water bowl and do any feeding or medication that is applicable at that time. After that I'll usually do some type of activity with the dog depending on what their age and interests are which can range from a walk or playtime to just some love and attention and anything in between. Before I leave I always take them out one more time, make sure they have enough water, administer any medications if needed, and give any food if needed. When I leave I make sure they are crated/in their room (if necessary) and the doors are locked.

Information Matt A. would like to know about your pet
I have experience with all breeds and sizes, but I would like to know basic things such as their name, age, what their personality is like, their interests and what they enjoy doing, any allergies or health issues they may have, and anything I would need to watch out for.
A typical day
Every dog is different so it depends on what they enjoy. If they enjoy going on lots of walks and exploring then we will do that, if they like to play a lot then we can grab a toy and have some fun, or even if they’re happy and content just relaxing and getting attention then that will be fine too. It’s all about keeping your dog safe, comfortable, and happy.

I have two family dogs that stay between my house and my brother's house so between that and my experience in the day care/boarding business I have a large amount of experience with animal care.
