Since I came in the USA one year ago I volunteer for the Humane Rescue Alliance as a dog walker at the shelter, foster family and adopt events dog handler. I like to work with pets there and try to make them feel a bit more happier by giving them all the kindness that I can ! With my husband we fostered for the Humane Rescue Alliance 3 dogs for 1 month and a half at all before they have been adopted. We had 2 pits (9 and 11 months) and 1 poodle (11 years, the one on my profile picture). It is always a heart breaking when we have to say goodbye but we keep in touch with the new parents to see how things are going in the new family. We realy care a lot about our foster dogs ! They become for 1 week or more like ours... What we like most to do with dogs ? - to play with them in the dog park with a ball or just look at them playing together. They are so funny ! - to pet them while watching a movie :-P - to go for a long walk in Rock Creek Park and enjoy the nature together Since we were childs we always loved dogs. I had 2 and my husband had one. We come from France and Switzerland, French part. In my country, I'm a librarian for the children area and my husband is a researcher in neuroscience, in Washington DC he works at the NIH. I'm only working as a dog walker (etc.) on Rover, so I'm at home a lot of time especialy during the afternoon :-) I sometimes will have to leave for dog walking or feading cats but that's for only 40-45 minutes. I also have english lessons through monday to thursday, between 10 to 1 pm (it's 6 minutes from my home). When I'm at home with a dog I love to play, do some training and snuggle on the sofa while I'm reading, watching movies or knitting. During the day, I will go many times with him to the dog park in front of the building if he likes it or make walks in the neighborhoodor and sometimes a long one in Rock Creek Park ! We have a dog bike trailer, so, if your dog is use to it, we can go enjoy a bike trip for a few hours :-P
