I've known Mat for almost four years now and truly believe he the biggest animal lover I know, besides myself. For years, Mat and I dog sat for his aunt's senior rescue up until she recently passed away. In the past, Mat has volunteered a lot of his time a local pet store/shelter called CatNap, where abandoned or transferred cats and other small mammals are provided shelter and care before being adopted. He and his family have fostered and adopted many animals throughout his life so he has tons of exposure and experience with all kinds of animals and their different temperaments. He has a wide knowledge regarding dogs and I would trust him over anyone I know, especially if there were ever an emergency situation, I know he could handle it extremely well.
