Loving, "Whisperer" Animal Care

Pet care experience

Hi! (My given name is Matthew, but friends call me Mateo) Growing-up on a small, family farm in Michigan, I learned to love & care for a wide variety of animals: Dogs, Cats, Pigs, Goats, Horses, Donkeys, Pigeons, chickens and Turkeys. In addition to the domestic animals, my Mom and I were part of a program that helped orphaned and abandoned baby wild animals such as: Skunks, Raccoons, Opossums and Flying Squirrels. In addition to the experience on my farm, I also took care of a variety of animals for friends/family. I recently obtained my pet-sitting certification through IAP Career College. In addition, I have also obtained my American Red Cross Cat & Dog First-Aid certificate. Also, I am fully insured through State Farm. I lost the love-of-my-life, Mika, March 1st of 2021 and now I want to share my love and talent with others.

Fantastic! The attention he paid to my dog and the frequent communication was very reassuring. The house was spotless and I’m looking forward to having Mateo back in a few weeks!

As usual Mateo took excellent care of our dogs and our house. We are so thankful to know him.

This was our first time with Mateo, and we could not be happier. He paid attention to every detail and added loving touches in so many ways. Just wonderful.

Mateo is truly a wonderful animal person. He did everything we asked and more. I was surprised that he did a doggy poop clean up and washed their pee pads. I came home to a bunch of happy babies and not because they were happy to see me but they were kept happy and healthy by Mateo. It was wonderful to come home to a house filled with happy animals and to a house left in good and clean order as I left it. Mateo is someone everyone should use as a doggy, Kitty or animal sitter. My 5 babies each gave Mateo a 5 Wiggle Review! (That’s unheard of in my house of doggies.) Thank you Mateo, we will certainly use you again when we travel.

Information Mateo D. would like to know about your pet

I have experience administering pills to cats and dogs and insulin injections. If there is a special need your baby requires, please feel free to let me know. Also, I think it's good to know of any habits that your baby may have in regards to nipping strangers, etc.... The more info I have, the better. Never be afraid to tell me too much. **To help make booking easy with me, I want to clarify my service-area: ~ East of I-25 (and up to the Sandia Foothills) ~ South of 556(Tramway)/I-25 interchange ~ North of I-40 and Lomas *** No rule is ever completely set-in-stone, but this is my general service-area, but exceptions could be made depending on the circumstances. Thank you, Mateo

A typical day

I think it's very important for me, as the pet-sitter, to listen to the client on what it is she or he expects of me in regards to their baby's needs. If your pet has a special exercise routine established or toys and games they love, then I'm all for it! Also, I like to be creative in finding new ways to ignite your pet's imagination. I am a stickler for safety and I am certified with the American Red Cross in Cat & Dog First Aid. For me, it's ALWAYS safety first followed by fun, second and fun, third! :)
