Let’s go for a walk!

Pet care experience

Hi, and welcome to my Rover page! About me: I love animals and I enjoy my job! I am a yogi, a part-time student at Delaware Valley University living with my parents, and I enjoy playing basketball 🏀. Studying Chemistry, so you know I can follow a written procedure! I love to be active and working out is a fun hobby of mine! I had a dog when I was young and loved him dearly, and more recently, from 2020 to 2022 raised a heeler puppy. His name is Eli and our favorite game to play is fetch! Also adopted a cat Maysie ❤️. The dog and cat cannot stay with me currently due to housing limitations, but the beautiful memories are all mine 🥰. Cats and dogs are a joy to be around. I have 4 years professional dog walking and house sitting experience on Rover. With my heeler pup, I attended 4 months At Attention Dog Training to learn to combat serious reactivity. Please message me and let’s meet up!

Thank you Mary!! I cannot say enough about the wonderful job you did taking care of our dog Jaxon while we were on vacation. This has been my first experience with any kind of a pet sitting service as we normally take Jaxon to a kennel. But as he’s gotten older, I feel more and more guilty about dropping him off there. I heard about Rover and I thought I would give it a try. And I’m so glad that I did! Mary‘s profile and her philosophy just fit with what I was looking for in a caregiver. She’s a very calm, and centered young woman, which I think is really important. Especially since my Jaxon can get anxious at times and that can look a little frightening because he is a big boy. Mary seemed completely unfazed with the possibility of Jaxon getting anxious. She has a very gentle manner about herself and was patient with Jaxon, giving him time to “check her out” without being “in his face” so to speak. I will add that this is the first time we have ever had someone, other than family, come into our home without us there. And I feel that Mary was very respectful and conscious of our privacy and the security of our home. Our whole family, and the friends we were vacationing with, enjoyed seeing the daily Rover cards! Seeing pictures of Jaxon in his regular spots in the house and out walking in his yard validated the decision to entrust him to Mary’s care. Again, thank you so very much Mary!

Mary was awesome! We were very hesitant on using the service but she put us right at ease. It made our trip a bit more carefree. She was very responsive to messages and was very capable with Titus.

Needed a walker while recovering from broken bones. Tipped Mary with cash. Our Chase is very excitable when he sees other dogs and people. Mary did a great job handling him and wearing him out. We will definitely schedule with her again if we need help in the future

Safety, trust & environment

For dog walking: I find it’s best to ignore dogs in the beginning and give attention when we all calm down. I love practicing patience with animals. I like giving treats for good behavior too! I prefer dogs in harness with 4-6ft leash. Goal: spend attention wisely and focus on the positives however small! For house sitting: Written or verbal instructions work great, we can discuss further at the meet and greet!

Information Mary V. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if you have specific treats you wish to be used. My favorite is cheese! Does your dog have a favorite toy? Sometimes toys work better than treats! Energy level on a scale from 1-10. Current triggers and reactions. For house sitting: what does feeding, walking, and bedtime look like for your family? And any medications dogs are taking?

A typical day

Walking a mile at Peace Valley Park brings joy to my life and is how I show myself love each day. If there is a park close to your house, I am walking to it! Leash training is so fun for me, and with your dog, we will practice walking pretty, eye contact, sitting, and any other commands your dog knows; rewarding the behaviors we love to see in our dogs. Letting go of the rest! During house sitting, I enjoy meditation and reading books, creating a relaxing environment in your home!

I love taking walks! This is my self care and being a student in college, I have lots of free time for making new furry friends! And I am friendly to humans as well! I know what it feels like to be away from my pets and can empathize with the grief of leaving them! Trust I am capable and you’re leaving them in gentle caring hands! And in the safety and comfort of your home, I do my best to give love to your four-legged family!
