With 3 years of caring for my own pets and the pdts of others, I will say my main strength is that I am very attentive to a dog's specific needs. Some dogs require a rougher tone while others respond better to a soft, cheery voice. Some dogs love playing, some dogs love cuddling, and others prefer just doing their own thing, and I am good at adapting to different personalities and wants. I am excellent at reassuring a scared dog and making them feel safe and cared for. Most dogs seem to be at ease around me. I am not overly intimidating but I can be authoritative when I need to be. I am used to caring for small dogs. My most frequent dog-sitting gig is taking care of my grandmother's 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier. I have also cared for large dogs, small dogs, and cats of all ages for clients. If it is an extended overnight stay I would be willing to clean the litterbox in addition to feeding the cat(s) and playing with them even if I'm just there to pet sit.
