I like big pups and I cannot lie!

Pet care experience

Hello! I have dedicated the past eight years of my life to caring for animals professionally. It all began at the age of 13 when I started pet-sitting for my neighbors, friends, and members of my church community. My lifelong passion for animals, along with years of personal experience, inspired me to extend my help to others. At 17, I embarked on a new adventure, working at a high-volume boarding facility that regularly accommodated up to 120 dogs every weekend. This facility had a special focus on handling even the most aggressive and reactive dogs, enriching my knowledge of canine behavior and care. Currently, I'm fully committed to pet sitting as a full-time profession while diligently saving money to pursue my dream of completing a degree in animal behavior. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience in caring for a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, snakes, lizards, alpacas, geese, ferrets, chickens, fish, and many more. Although I have a strong preference for larger dogs, having had them for most of my life and accumulated the most experience with them, I am also open to caring for smaller dogs and have some experience in that area. My dedication to animals remains unwavering, and I am excited to continue providing loving and professional care to all furry and feathered friends alike.

Daily Care: Each day, I am committed to ensuring your pets are well taken care of. I will make sure they are fed at the correct times and provide them with the care and attention they need throughout the entire booking period. Potty Breaks: I understand the importance of regular potty breaks for your pets. I typically offer potty breaks about every 4-6 hours to ensure their comfort and well-being. Flexibility with Departure: While I do prefer to leave your house before you return home, I am flexible and willing to stay until you get back if necessary. Your pet's safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I will adjust my schedule to accommodate their needs and your preferences.

Information Mary P. would like to know about your pet

Special Needs: Please inform me in advance if your pet has any special needs, which may include but are not limited to vision, hearing, digestive issues, aggressive behaviors, skin conditions, potty assistance, special dietary requirements, medications, or anxiety. I am comfortable and experienced in managing these conditions. Behavioral Issues: Before confirming a booking, I kindly request that you provide information about any and all behavior issues your pet may have. This may include behaviors such as pulling on a leash, nipping, attempting to escape, jumping on people, having accidents, reactivity, or any other relevant behaviors. This information helps me provide the best care and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for your pet.

A typical day

Dog Care: I have a preference for dogs to have access to a fenced backyard as I believe it provides a safer and more comfortable environment for them when you are away. However, I am more than willing to take dogs on walks if a fenced yard is not available. If requested, I can also take them to a nearby dog park for extra exercise and socialization. I make it a priority to spend quality time playing with any pets you have, and I follow your rules regarding whether they are allowed on the furniture or not. Cat Care: For cats, my care includes cleaning out the litter boxes and ensuring they are fed. When it comes to interacting with cats, I adapt to their comfort level. If they are open to play, I engage with them. If they are more reserved or skittish, I adopt a quiet and non-intrusive presence to help them adjust to my company at their own pace.

Scheduling and Flexibility for Dog Walks and Drop-Ins: I maintain a flexible schedule for dog walks and drop-ins. I strive to arrive within a 30-minute window of the scheduled time (e.g., for an 11 a.m. walk, I'll be there between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.). While I make every effort to minimize delays, if a more extended delay is expected, I will promptly inform you and provide an estimated arrival time. House Sitting and Pet Care: During house sitting, I do accept drop-ins and dog walks, but I manage them to ensure that pets are not left alone for extended periods, typically no more than 4-6 hours unless specified otherwise. It's essential to note that I do not provide constant care during house sitting, but I can limit my absences to around 2 hours at a time. This adjustment may result in a pricing increase to $80/night for the first dog and $44/night for additional dogs as I may need to cancel other appointments to accommodate this arrangement. If your pet requires precise timing for activities like medication or feeding, please inform me at the earliest time possible, and I will do my best to accommodate it. For example, if your cat needs medication at 9 a.m., and the drop-in is scheduled for 9 a.m., I will arrive slightly earlier (within 30 minutes) to ensure the medication is administered on time or as close to 9 a.m. as possible. Policies: Each animal under my care must have a separate pet profile. For new clients, a meet and greet is a prerequisite before confirming a booking, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis. After a successful meet and greet, if both parties agree to proceed with the booking, I will initiate the confirmation and payment process. If the confirmation request expires without being confirmed and paid for within 72 hours, the booking will be archived, and the space will no longer be reserved. Full-Time Commitment: Please be aware that this is my full-time profession, which requires flexibility in scheduling drop-ins and walks. If I anticipate any delay and cannot be available at the exact booking time, I will provide a 30-minute window to accommodate the situation.
