Senior Pup Extraordinaire

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Mary. I am 31 years old and have two year old twin girls. I USED to hike and board dogs full time but now, I clean homes part time and tend to senior pups. My dog Lee, the twins and I live in Westminster, Vermont. We live in a beautiful home on an organic farm. This year marks the 12th year and third state in which I've tended to puppies, dogs and senior puppers. While I enjoy tending to the greater dog population in its entirety, senior dogs, ones who take medications, those who live with physical and developmental ailments, are my specialty. My home has been referred to as "farm camp." This is because: pups who are able to enjoy off leash adventures, get an awesome off leash farm experience. While the latest DSM may not have nature deficit disorder printed on its pages, I know it effects not only people but more importantly, dogs! I value and understand that exercise specifically in the wilderness provides a focused energy released followed by contentment. My home is a dog home. Your pup is welcome on the couches, their own bed/crate, their own chosen space and my bed. Since this is a new space for your pup, it's important that we stick to your in home structure as much as possible. This allows them to feel more comfortable and stress free. This means I will ask for a list of usual commands, eating times, toys, blankets and beds. If your pup has any quirks, I like to know! The more information, the better! When scheduling pick up and drop off times: if you're going to be late please kindly send a text update. I am extremely flexible with times! Not communicating information is a big issue and can lead to scheduling conflicts. For every hour that you're late and lack communication you will be charged an additional $10. My rate for overnight stays are based on a 24 hour period. If your drop off to pick up time goes over the 24 hour period, I charge a prorated amount accordingly. If your drop off to pick up time is less then 24 hours, it is a flat rate of $40. Thanks for reading! Hope to hear from you soon!

Mary took good care of my dog. Coordinating drop off and pick up was a breeze as was all communication. I would definitely recommend Mary and I would book her again.

There was a miscommunication with the staff at Mt. Snow regarding their pet policy prior to our arrival. As a result, my boyfriend and I found ourselves in a situation where we needed someone to board our Cocker Spaniel Ice at the absolute last minute for one night. When all others failed to answer their phones, Mary came through! Ice immediately warmed up to Mary. I could tell right away Mary was very experienced with animals and there would be no issues at all, which proved correct. Mary provided status updates and pictures of Ice throughout his stay, which put our minds at ease knowing he was doing okay and in good hands! Overall our experience with Mary was absolutely fantastic and I would 100% recommend Mary to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. Thanks again so much Mary!

My husband and I are going vacation and need someone to watch our dog while we are away. We haven’t left her with someone else for an extended stay and did not want to kennel her, but find someone who could give her the attention and belly rubs that she likes. We contacted Mary couldn’t be happier. Mary suggested we set up a meet-n-great. We visited for quite a while and decided to set up a trial run with Elle spending the night with them. Elle is an older dog; she is blind and requires daily medication and eye drops. The trial run went well and she is signed up for a longer stay.
