Vet Asst with 20+ Years Experience

Pet care experience

I am an experienced pet care provider. I've worked with over thousands of dogs, of varying breeds and temperaments. I can handle any dog regardless of size, and have a lot of experience with shy, unsocialized pets. When I worked for an animal shelter in Southern California, my job was to work with the feral cats in quarantine, and helping to socialize dogs deemed unadoptable. I successfully socialized over hundreds of cats and dogs so that they could go to Petsmart to be adopted. It's something I'm very passionate about. As a vet assistant, I do have experience administering oral, and injectable medications, including insulin. I know the importance of making sure your pet eats when they get their insulin. I monitor pets very closely, regardless of whether they are on medications or not. I like to be able to spot differences in a pets normal routine before it becomes a problem. I work with animals for a living, but my schedule is typically very flexible. I offer home visits, overnight care in your home, extended care, as well as dog walks, and some light grooming if needed. I care for pets in your home as if I'm caring for my own. I have three cats, and two dogs of my own, so I know how important reliable care is. I've worked with animals professionally for over 20 years, and their care and safety is my number one priority.

Mary has multiple years of experience working with pets, which was evident during our Meet & Greet. She's not just someone doing a part time job, but a dedicated & caring professional. Mary gave us the peace of mind we were seeking to leave our beloved mature cat for an extended time. She followed all instructions, reassured us with good communication & exceeded our expectations. Animals are her calling. Thanks again for all you provided.

I canceled 10 days before the service date was reserved and was charged by Rover even though no service was done. They also make it impossible for a person to reach anyone at Rover. What a scam. NOT HAPPY With the CUSTOMER SERVICE or lack of response to resolve this issue. I will not recommend Rover to ANYONE.

Safety, trust & environment

I am very aware of animal behavior, and keep a keen eye on them to be able to spot any differences in their normal routines. Dogs are taken out to potty every 2-4 hours, depending on age, water intake, and what their normal routine is. Cat litter pans are scooped twice daily, and fresh water for all pets throughout the day is a must, especially during the warmer months. I adhere to the owner's instructions so that I can keep to their normal schedule and routine in order to keep pets as stress-free as possible while their owner is away.

Information Mary O. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences, I love them all. I usually ask about the dogs behavior around strangers, if they have any fears (good to know before I walk them), what their feeding schedule is, what their potty schedule is, and any other details, no matter how silly or weird they may seem, that the owner would like me to know. You can never have too much information.

A typical day

Going for walks is great for my health, as well as the health of your pets. I have no problem walking them around your neighborhood, or even driving to a local park for a walk. We can play fetch, or tug-o-war, or whatever your pup(s) would enjoy.
