Dogs and cats make my heart sing.

Pet care experience

Although my given name is Mary, I am called Marci by friends and family. I've lived with pets my whole life. For more than 14 years I've been intensely involved with the feral cat community, including fostering and wound/illness care. My resident rescue dogs and cats have all been welcoming of these "strangers" in the house. I have also cared for neighbors' dogs and cats in their own homes and have been the go to person in my community for help with abandoned or injured strays. Although not currently certified, I completed Fear Free training for dealing with anxious and fearful dogs and cats.

Mary was wonderful with our boys while we were away for almost a week. She sent us great pictures and updates, as well as made them catnip toys. Would highly recommend!

Mary is a great sitter, very considerate to our needs dealing with two cats learning to live together. She makes timely visits and detailed notifications and photos of our cats.

Marci took the best care of my cats and even tolerated their mischief. I loved hearing her updates and seeing the photos she took. We will for sure use her again in the future, thank you!

Safety, trust & environment

In a client's home, I would first make sure all pets are accounted for upon arrival. Then I would let the dog(s) outside to relieve himself while I prepared the meal. After the dog is fed, there would be playtime and walking if needed. With cats I would feed and scoop litterboxes, followed by play time and brushing if required. I would count heads again before I left the home. On occasion I would be able to board a cat or two (from same household) overnight or for a short period in my home in a designated and separate room from my own resident pets. I would also board a dog for a night or two if he is crate-trained. I have a very large fenced backyard, great for playtime, and a friendly medium-sized dog in residence. I'm a very hands-on person and your pets would get a lot of attention while in my care.

Information Mary "Marci" K. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know any special fears or likes that your pet has so that I can make our time together fun for both of us.

A typical day

Walking in familiar and unfamiliar neighborhoods can be fun for us both. Finding those little hidden parks is always exciting. Also playtime with favorite toys is a must to burn off that pent up energy. A tired dog is a happy dog.
