Pet care experience

I'm Mary and I'm excited to meet your dog! I've had dogs for over ten years and fostered for over three. I've cared for elderly dogs, sick dogs, dogs with boundless energy, pregnant dogs, newborn puppies, and older puppies. I have experience with oral, topical, and injected medications, and subcutaneous fluids. I have one friendly dog with a crooked nose and a one-eyed cat who plays like a dog. They're both great with animal guests! I am a runner and can take your dog with me or walk them as you prefer. My fenced back yard is perfect for potty breaks and playing. I away at work M-F for about 9 hrs/day but your pup will get hours of love and attention when I'm home!

Mary is just a terrific dog sitter. She does a wonderful job catering to our active doggo’s needs, and has nothing but praise for her (even though she can be s real handful). Juno is always excited to go hang with Mary, Finster, Sasquatch, and any other friends who may be visiting, and always comes back happy and tired out (which we LOVE). Hooray for Camp Mary!

Thanks again, Mary! Murphy had a wonderful time with her animal friends while staying in your home. She's now snuggled on the sofa in her favorite spot.

Information Mary M. would like to know about your pet

I'd love to make sure your dog is friendly with other dogs since I have one of my own! I also have a cat who loves dogs. My first priority is to keep your dog safe so please talk to me about any health concerns, (medications, injuries, allergies, dietary restrictions, etc.) or behavioral issues that could impact their safety (persistent chewing/licking, trying to run away, eating strange things, aggression, etc.). My second priority is to keep your dog happy! What is your dog's daily routine? Do they like daily exercise or are they more of a couch pup? Do they like to snuggle or do their own thing? Do they have a favorite toy or treat? Are there any particular behavioral quirks I should keep an eye out for? And finally, I want to be respectful of any training you are working on or rules you have for your dog. For example, while dogs are allowed on the furniture at my house, I'm happy to try to keep your pup off the couch during their stay with me to avoid confusing them with inconsistent rules. Working on a particular command? I'd love to keep up the training while you're away! These are all great topics to discuss during a meet and greet!

A typical day

I walk my dog for about half an hour each day and am happy to bring your dog along or take them on separate longer or shorter walks, whichever works best for them. I also run several days a week and can take them along for that if they're up for it. I have a small fenced backyard that is great for dogs to romp around in and perfect for playing fetch with smaller dogs. I live a mile from a City of Minneapolis dog park and would love to take your dog to play as long as they have a permit. I often take my dog with me to friends' houses, and to dog-friendly stores, breweries, patios, etc. It would be great to know if you think your dog would enjoy outings like these and if you'd be okay with me taking them. I will never take them to an off-leash situation where I do not know the other people and/or dogs present (e.g. a friend's house with a resident dog).
