I had dogs (sheltie, red-nosed pit bull, and golden retriever) in my family since I was 1! I currently have a mini Aussie living with me now. I am comfortable taking care of dogs of all sizes and I am able to understand/meet their needs. I have also taken care of other small pets such as rabbits and cats with great success. I work from home with flexible hours to step out if necessary to watch, walk and feed pets in the area. Lunch breaks can be taken whenever, so mid day walks can be accommodated! At home, the pets are monitored and checked on regularly. I ensure that the water bowl is full and that they are not chewing on anything naughty. Generally, I cohabitate with the pets but give them space to nap and play. I am mindful to give potty breaks every 4 hours, and go for a walk 3 times.
