I have had a dog since I was three years old. When I was in college, our family dog passed away and I was devastated. I soon after adopted my first dog on my own, who just turned 12! In true dachshund form, she bonded with my dad and can’t leave his side. I couldn’t break that bond and she now lives with my parents. I now have my own dachshund pup who lives with me and is my sidekick. She goes everywhere with me! I also have a cat who loves to cuddle. I am a total animal lover and think that pets deserve to be spoiled. I have experience with puppies as well as older dogs or dogs with health and anxiety issues (my 12-year-old doxie has IVDD and required a wheelchair/diapers for some time and my doxie has major separation anxiety)

Mary Kate is amazing! She was available on short notice and saved my vacation after my regular sitter had to cancel due to emergency. My animals hate other humans, but Mary Kate showed how calm and compassionate she is. She was very thoughtful and goes out of her way to make sure my pets feel their best!

We have a private dog run connected to our building outside that is gated and requires a building key to access. Animals will be able to free roam in my apartment and are allowed on furniture (unless that is not allowed at home!) My pup, Ellie, can be playful but prefers calmer dogs who won’t jump on her since she is a low rider. My cat, Callie, is independent and will ignore dogs as long as they leave her alone. However, I do request that your dog have experience with cats and not have a history of hyper-fixation on them. I also request that your dog not be a constant barker, as I am a therapist and will be working during the day doing sessions virtually from home.

My pup, Ellie, and I love walking around our neighborhood, playing with other dogs in our building at the dog park, going to MonDog Beach, and cuddling up while I work or watch TV.

I work from home every day Since my own pup has separation anxiety, I never leave my apartment without her and am very understanding of how being away from their people can be stressful for animals! I have a private dog park connected to my building where we love to go play and sniff.
