The more playful the better
Pet care experience
I started Rover in August 2018 because I love dogs (and all pets) and did not have my own yet. I have since adopted a lovely lab/boxer mix who turned 1 years old February 2019. He is very energetic and loves having other dogs around, which is why we take regular trips to the dog park. Pet Care Experience: My current dog Mayfield (adopted November 2018). Past pet care includes my family dog (a rescue black lab "mutt" we adopted in 2008 who is with my sister in SC now) and the puppy my graduate school roommate adopted and I helped raise for two years. I've also had the privilege of dog sitting for friends/neighbors pets periodically since college (>6 years). Availability: Moderately flexible - I'm switching career disciplines and so currently between jobs and have extra time when not away for interviews (or weddings). My living situation: My boyfriend and I (late 20s/early 30s, no kids) live in the upstairs unit of a duplex house. It is a 1 bedroom apartment with a sizable living area, dining room and kitchen in which animals could have free reign. Hardwood floors with easily vacuumed carpets (moderate shedding is ok). Side/back yard with fence but with a gate that needs to be repaired, although I would be outside watching over any dogs in the yard. Downstairs unit/neighbor has a 2 year old small-medium dog who is friendly, although if other dogs are an issue we can avoid interactions if necessary. Extras: willing to take dog(s) for a run if more rigorous exercise is needed, go to the dog park, water your plants/collect mail/simple house tasks if house-sitting
Reviews
Mary sent lots of photos and took great care of my dog. She was easy to communicate with and responded to my request very quickly. Thanks for hosting Milo!
Fantastic care. Great communication and sent pictures of Penny’s time there.
Mary was great! She sent me tons of pictures of Margot over the weekend and kept me up-to-date on how Margot was doing.
great!Mary is super, take good care of cream. Mayfield is also very friendly, I think mayfield and cream are good friend now.

Information Mary C. would like to know about your pet
Would like to know (1) do they like other dogs, cats, people, animals, kids, etc (2) how long do they like their walks/runs (3) do they like to chew on shoes/furniture or have any particular destructive tendencies that can be avoided with proper planning? (4) what do they love or hate (sprinklers, swimming, lightning, babies, touching their ears, other quirks) (5) noise level (never barks, barks with every passerby, stops barking if petted/etc) (6) best way to get them to take their medications (7) what commands they know and respond to
A typical day
Depends on the situation, but I live within walking distance of several parks including a dog park. I am also happy to drive places such as the beach/lake or dog parks for fun time. I'm always willing to partake in your pet's favorite activity, whether that be frisbee, ball throwing, tug of war, running, or just petting, brushing and cuddling. Also although I am not certified in animal/canine CPR/first aid, I can find a dog's pulse and I am certified and well versed in the human version of medicine.
